Critical Gamer: Edna & Harvey: The Breakout Review

Critical Gamer writes: Despite waking up in the padded room of an asylum, Edna is sure she isn’t crazy and Harvey (her talking stuffed toy) agrees with her. The scene is set for Edna & Harvey: The Breakout, a point and click adventure game created by Germany based developer Daedalic Entertainment and originally released in several other countries that has finally seen an English translation.

At the beginning, young Edna wakes up in the padded cell of an insane asylum with no memory of her past. She doesn’t have the slightest idea how she wound up there, but one thing is for sure, she wants out! After all, she feels perfectly sane – and her talking stuffed bunny Harvey agrees completely. Together, they attempt an escape and, in doing so, m...

Daedalic: Navigating The Adventure Labyrinth

Germany really seems to be standing up for the point and click adventure. With varying results. At the shinier end is Deck13's Ankh, but more often by the time they're in the English-speaking hands the humour is completely lost by poor translations and localisation. Nevermind the crappy puzzle design that's currently endemic throughout the genre.

So, is there hope on the horizon from German developers Daedalic Entertainment? They've got not seventy, not minus six hundred, but three new point-n-clickers due over the next couple of years.
