Haha if you care that much Im almost sure they are importable. The Japanese controllers now work just as well on a NA PS3.

Are you sure about that?
The same Bluetooth interfaces uses different wavelength in different parts of the world.
I think EU and US uses the same, while the asian countries differ. HOwever, Sony COULD choose to make the controllers on the same Hz, although if the controllers just use one of the standards that already exists, this won't be the case.

Yeah I am sure that the current sixaxis work the same for NA and JP. My friend bought one during his 3 month stay there, and they work interchangeably. I dont know if NA work with EU. And this very well could change with the rumble, but as it stands now JP and NA work for either system.

7:27 p.m. -- Hirai says, no surprises this year. Price is very important, but at the same time, how we can further enrich the product is also important.

Sony, Sony, Sony .... this would have been an opportune time to announce a Jap price drop. It wouldn't make sense to introduce the 40 GB model at the TOKYO GAME SHOW if the SKU is targeted for North America. Japan is looking for 2 things

1. Price Drop
2. Software

I look at it this way:

Why reveal all your cards this early.
If you are pondering a price cut or a 40gb model, why tip it off in September. It is just the beginning of the gaming season. More of the quality titles will be hitting late October and really pick up in November. If there is a price cut, why announce now and risk decreased sales during a traditionally slow month. Instead, wait until late October (R&C, Spiderman on Blu ray) and November in time for the holidays and BAM, hit them with a price cut.

Besides, Sony has pretty much written off 2007 to MS and, regardless of what you think of the 360 lineup, Halo and Mass Effect will be extremely popular and will outshine titles on both system. With the exception of COD4, possibly. I think Sony is playing it smart (assuming that is what they are doing) not to reveal too much too early.

Man, I was really hoping they would announce FF7 if not tat the Sony conference then atleast at the SquarEnix conference. I'm having serious doubts about it now. I have never been to TGS but I have been to 3 E3 expos here in LA and it is my experience that companies reveal and brag about their content. There are games that are shown behind closed door but if FF7 was in store for PS3... it seems like that would be something that Kaz would want to touch on.

They know damn well PS fans want FF7 so it would only make sense to announce it so gamers would have something to super excited about. TGS is the perfect forum for Sony to turn the table around and pull out some wicked hat tricks. So far all they did was announce a fuggin dual shock controller. Whoop-d-fuggin-dooo!!!

On a barely optimistic note- The show isnt over yet and MAYBE theres a Sony Megaton announcement in store so heres hoping. If not, this to me is going to be one of the most weakest and vanilla TGS showings in TGS history and Sony would have yet again made a mistake by doing little to ramp up PS3 Sales.

If they dont want to drop the price then atleast get some Blockbuster games out there to help justify the steep price tag!

Yeah, Sony had better realize that marketing is needed in order to sell a product. Who knows though, sony's marketing is so terrible they may surprise us with some grand announcement. IMHO I think a huge chunk of PS3 execs and sales and marketing staff shoud be fuggin fired! Kaz included, first he made that bonehead statement a few weeks ago about PS3 owners will expect to see better games in 2009 and now this sh!t about home being delayed and no major game annoucements and no price drop announcement?

I thought for sure they would announce some games to get people excited about spending 500-600 bucks to help justify the price but no dice.

The message they are getting across to people that dont already own a PS3 is that- theres no need to buy our product at this current time. The only thing that makes sense not to be announced is the price drop. If they aren't making any more 60GBs they will never sell them if they announced a newer version that was $100 cheaper, regardless of the BC. I'm sure that announcement will come in due time.
