who would have guessed :P

maybe Doom 4? cause if they said horror action fps it would've been too obvious

kancerkid4859d ago

The guys who made Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay are making a game using id Tech 5. Those guys really know how to pump out graphx too...

Graphics are serious business.

So what FPS isn't an "Action FPS". The description kind of sounds redundant.

..."Action FPS"

ATiElite4859d ago

Action FPS would be like Half Life 2 or Chronicles of Riddick.

The Doom series has basically been a FPS, but the compnay that owns Bethesda now owns Id so Doom 4 may be The Action FPS it's referencing as Doom 4 will not a squeal to Doom 3 nor a reboot cause they want Doom to be more.

Just take a look at who is developing the game. Machine games AKA Zenimax. What titles does Zenimax own? DOOM, Fallout, RAGE, Elder Scrolls, The Crossing, Prey. There are at least 3 options here on the table. Prey 2, Fallout 4, The Crossing.

Doom 4 action FPS possible, but didn't they already say its already coming from id software. Machinegames is different studio. Would id really just let another studio handle their child just like that? Even if IP is owned by Zenimax you would think id would be wanting their brand on it. So this could be new territory or perhaps even a New IP. I am betting that Prey 2 is most likely other option. If true it would mean Prey 2 material will be rebuilt again. Why do so many games want to be like DNF these days? Go through 5 rounds of development before showcased to the public.

I'm going out there and I'm going to say Prey 2.

mightyboot4859d ago

Sounds like 'Doom' or 'Quake' to me.

Mista T4859d ago

if iD were the ones to make it and not Raven software then that would be amazing

mightyboot4859d ago

Raven is busy with CoD so its possible.

Sonic1881532d ago

Still in the early stages. We won't get a reveal until two more years probably 😂

rlow1532d ago

I wish they would make another Riddick, Butchers Bay was the best.

hotnickles532d ago

You know what games I want way more than Indiana Jones? The darkness and Riddick.

Snookies12532d ago (Edited 532d ago )

Haha, completely agree... But, the fact that he is involved in this is a definitely a positive sign! Could actually be a good game!

hotnickles531d ago

You might be right. Indiana Jones will never do Jackie or Riddick stuff though. The darkness was brutal on the eyes and ears lol.

Leeroyw532d ago

The Darkness was an underrated gem. Fantastic lore and Mike patton from Faith No More voicing the darkness is up there with the great video game voice overs imo.
