To be honest i really dont see a dam differece.
nothing is new it just looks like the wii game upscaled to 720 point blank and a small texture upgrade.

smh for a powerful ps3 system it should look way better unless we all agree that the wii version looked good to begin with and all the ps3 did was upgrade the visuals slightly to hd.

You can see jaggies on the wii version everywhere most notably at 1 min where they show the text on ps3 and wii. Open your eyes.

Good luck spending all that time getting Dolphin configured to work properly (if you ever do). I'd just rather buy the PS3 version.

I spent like 6 hours on the net asking around and searching google about how to get some of those games in Dolphin to work properly and without framerate issues or graphical glitches, and barely made any progress so I just gave up.

I definitely have a capable computer, so that wasn't the issue, the problem is that it's just too much of a hassle to get it working properly, if you can get it working at all.

I dont think hes promoting piracy,think he was trying to show that the wii has good graphics. using the dolphin emulator as proof of concept to show people that the games look good and that when you upscale them in the dolphin you can see what the wii would look like in hd. from the videos that i saw super mario galaxy on the dolphin in hd looks great.

They may have deemed 60fps @ 720p to be more worthwhile then 1080p @ 30 fps. 1080p is a lot of screen real-estate to fill.

The GPUs on the 360 and PS3 are decent, but the GPU muscle required to fill 1080p at 60 Hz, except in the simplest of games, wasn't really available until a couple years after those consoles were released.

The comparison is obvious, if you view it as simple as "PS3 vs Wii, which is more powerful".

What's interesting here is that this is one of the first times we've seen a game from the modern generation (as opposed to a PS2 game) ported up from SD to HD, and the difference is pretty astounding. To this point, you could have argued that the God of War collection, etc. would have also looked much better if ported from the PS2 to the Wii (I know Sony owns God of War -- just pretend they don't for the sake of comparison).

The old "SD graphics are just fine" arguments that many people held up as proof that the Wii was a proper member of the current console generation kinda fall flat, after seeing this comparison. Even 720p is a pretty big leap over 480p.

I'm not trying to offend any Wii/Nintendo fans here -- I'm just pointing out some facts to consider. I will buy a Wii HD on day 1. Zelda HD sounds glorious -- now Nintendo just needs to bring it.

well it doesnt really fall flat cause there is nothing wrong with 480p. hd or sd the game still plays and functions the same. not necessarily pertaining to this game, just generally speaking. the wii is a proper member of this current gen cause they are still making great games this gen and will continue to make great games. so in the end....yes, sd graphics are fine.

extraction is a shit game in my opinion. a quick cash in. instead of giving wii owners the real deal we had to make do with this extraction bollocks. its extraction alright, they extracted everything that was great about the original game, and made this rubbish on rails shooter.

I actually think DS:E is a better value on PS3... because its free. It's definitely a "lite" game, and probably not worth more than about $20-$30, despite the fact that it made its debut at $50 on the Wii.

It's included with DS2, in the PS3 collector's edition, along with a replica plasma cutter, and some other cool stuff.

I'll do that, since this guy didn't.

The framerate is considerably better on the PS3 version, and the motion control is very smooth and precise. It's better than the Wii version in all regards.

Also, the Move glowing while you play is kinda gives you a Dead Space spooky horror vibe, if you're in a dark room, which I like. Will be great, when I play again later tonite... although having played the game on the Wii already, its not as spooky this time around.

I put my Wii version of DS:E on eBay right after playing a little way through the PS3 version.

Duh! I agree. Any comparison in the realm of Wii vs PS3 is a no-brainer. Clearly the PS3 is more powerful! But to hear these comments about how the Wii sucks is disheartening.

I loved Extraction on the Wii. It's the only console that I own. I deon't have time for any more than that, and I like Nintendo. What happens next after the best graphics possible? You don't have to live any more? You don't have to deal with life? All the consoles are fun. Get over it.

Then again, this is an internet chat and not worth very much at this point, other than to tel you all the Wii PWNS!!!

well, i can see why this game is FREE, the game is crap, but hey, its free. lets hope they fix all of these glitches:

-Necromorphs being trapped behind objects, not really a glitch, but you have to restart the whole chapter again

-Random black outs

-Character no moving

-Doors not working

-Bosses stay there after they die

-Random Freezes

-Game loops itself

-Sound glitches

-Falling through floors

-Failing to load

-Camera Freezes

-Flying through walls

-Levels/areas do not loading

-Cut scenes wig out, and stop. Characters just stand there.

That reminds me, I've been meaning to fire up the latest Dolphin build and see how Extraction runs on it. It'll be a nice way to pass the time until Dead Space 2 arrives.

Eh, it's just upscaled. not like they actually improved any of the graphics or visuals it's just there isn't any low rez flicker and i guess that's it.

Frame rate looks 60 on both too. The issue i have is mostly if the move feels as responsive. I tried a few move pointer controls and it's a wee bit laggy. not by all that much but side by side wii pointers more responsive and sensitive.
