They look the same. In fact, if they didn't have those Xbox 360 and PS3 labels at the bottom most people probably couldn't even tell that each half of the video was from a different console. Many parts of the video look nearly seamless and it looks like a video from one console.

The only noticeable difference is that they changed some of light sources around. Digital Foundry said that they didn't understand why the developers did it and that it made things look worse just as often as it made things look better. So, no overall improvement there, just arbitrary changes.

The only other area where there is a difference is in the performance. The 360 version has the edge there.

So I don't know why you are claiming the PS3 version looks better. This video and other comparisons clearly show it doesn't.

eferreira4871d ago

looks better to me, when the 360 has darker shades everyone says the 360 is the superior version but when this one has it, its the same. hmmmmm

"Given a straight choice across all formats, the PC game's ability to power past the technological shortcomings of the 360 and PS3 with higher resolutions and frame-rates makes it feel like the best technical experience, as we discussed in our Mass Effect 2 Tech Analysis last year."

"Between the consoles, the gap narrows. Technologically it still feels like the Xbox 360 version has the edge, but occasionally lower frame-rates and mostly unnoticeable graphical compromises on PS3 are not going to have much impact on the fun you have playing this game."

So in short, what starchild said. This of course ignores:

"BioWare has made the best of a bad situation, but condensing down 30-40 hours of gameplay into 15 minutes has its consequences: you are asked to make decisions without the wealth of background information the original game gave you. Whether we're dealing with Shepard's love life or the genocide of an entire race, you never quite feel comfortable in making such monumental decisions when so much of the back story is not available."

P_Bomb4870d ago

On the PS3 you can see ALL the detail on the back of Sheppard's rig during the head to head lab escape, but the 360's suit is just crushed blacks. You see no detail. The brightness and contrast in the scene otherwise looks the same so I don't think it's that.

Also, the last few scenes in the vid' with what's her face, the PS3 side has more shadows so it does look like that version has new light sources.

PC version looks better

Newtype4871d ago (Edited 4871d ago )

Always will.

"PC version is mainly a 360 port, with better resolutions not more than that."
Uh, no.

gamingdroid4871d ago (Edited 4871d ago )

Eurogamer agrees with you!

"The frame-rate advantage is quite significant and not just in terms of eliminating the performance drops we see in the Xbox 360 version. It doesn't require a monster system to run Mass Effect 2 at 60 frames per second, and the overall consistency this gives to BioWare's stunning animation really can't be underestimated. Those cut-scenes look beautiful on both systems, but they move so much more smoothly and realistically on PC thanks to that additional temporal resolution. "

"If you have the choice to play Mass Effect 2 on either platform, those with well-specced PCs would be advised to check out the computer version. Smoother performance and easier-to-use controls give it the nod, but high-end PC gamers might have wished for a bit more in the way of bonus bling."

Even compared to the PS3 version:

"Given a straight choice across all formats, the PC game's ability to power past the technological shortcomings of the 360 and PS3 with higher resolutions and frame-rates makes it feel like the best technical experience, as we discussed in our Mass Effect 2 Tech Analysis last year."

The PS3 version looks better on the face shots, but I can't see any difference on the fast moving scenes.

The real killer4871d ago (Edited 4871d ago )

Guys, you realy think that the PS3 version is better than the 360 version, it's just minor, they never will use the PS3 power to outshine the 360 version (NEVER) it's just a stupid multiplat comparing with no sense at all.

Damn, if i look at Killzone 3 or GOW3, Mass Effect 2 look like Wii game. I don't no why this game get so many 10 out of 10? O yeah it's multiplatform.

Even Uncharted 1 looks far better than this multiplat.

KON

PC version is mainly a 360 port, with better resolutions not more than that.

Lets the disagree noobs comming :) those pitty fanboys always funny when the facts are proven.

I get the feelings i get reported for trolling by mad fanboys with many accounts.

So, GOW 3/ Killzone 3 and Uncharted does not looking better than Mass Effect 2, is that you noobs think even there is proof?

Blacktric

"And that's why you have 1 bubble"

That why i have one bubble, people like you with many accounts bubble other people down you chicken freak.

What is the point for comparing between multiplat big boy?

"I've seen people with one bubble yet talking their minds, and backing their arguments with solid proofs while getting bombarded with disagrees just because they defend PS3 or 360 or Wii in different situations"

I have allready proven you wimp, those disagree's is comming from fanbpys with many accounts and butthurt for proven facts.

Blacktric4871d ago (Edited 4871d ago )

"Damn, if i look at Killzone 3 or GOW3, Mass Effect 2 look like Wii game"

"Even Uncharted 1 looks far better than this multiplat."

Yes, yes. No multiplatform or Xbox 360 exclusive will look better than Uncharted 1 let alone 2 and 3 will blow our minds away while those pitiful Xbox 360 users die in their 1 room houses. Happy now?

Edit: "Lets the disagree noobs comming :) those pitty fanboys always funny when the facts are proven. "

I've seen people with one bubble yet talking their minds, and backing their arguments with solid proofs while getting bombarded with disagrees just because they defend PS3 or 360 or Wii in different situations. But you deserve what you get. Don't try to look innocent.

Kon4871d ago

"PC version is mainly a 360 port, with better resolutions not more than that."

You're wrong.

phantomexe4871d ago (Edited 4871d ago )

I haven't looked at this video but i can say for sure that dragon age looked better then the 360 on the ps3. Ofcourse the PC looked the best as alwasy but i'm not sure where you get the 360 is just a par under PC. Read my past comments on dragon age and why i say dragon age on the ps3 looks better before you start calling me a lier. I'm not about to retype everthing i've said in the past. I've seen them side by side on the same TV. I may come off right now as a hard ass but really i don't care that much. In truth i don't think any gamer really cares as long as there game looks good and plays good.

Once again Real Killer makes a fool of himself on N4G.COM.

6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

DustMan47d ago

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave46d ago (Edited 46d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
