Gameplayer had a chance yesterday to play the upcoming Wii release Rockstar Games Presents Table Tennis. Other than introducing motion-based controls to this awesome sport simulation, it also provides our first look at how GTA IV's RAGE engine will work on the Wii.
"This new Wii version may not have all the eye candy of the Xbox 360 original, but it's got all the depth, and added visceral oompf into the bargain. In short, it's Table Tennis like you've never played it before."
A distinguished trio of Rockstar Xbox 360 titles are coming to the Xbox One Backward Compatibility catalog next week: Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Midnight Club: Los Angeles and Rockstar Games presents Table Tennis.
Hell yeah! Gamestop has Table Tennis for $2.99 now, and Midnight Club LA Complete for $9.99, Guarantee the prices will rise tomorrow so get them now.
Ten years to the day it was released, here's why Rockstar's sports sim is well worth revisiting.
ChampChong drops by the Pocket studio to chat with NichBoy and school him in RockStar Games Presents Table Tennis.
What year is it? I'm serious, somebody tell me what year it is?!!! <collapses in a disoriented mess>
Dammit! I saw this headline and initially thought they were doing a sequel. Such a quality addictive game.
I wonder if it PLAYS like real table tennis. Like almost perfect 1-1 swings. OR is this like wii tennis where it pretends and then fails to be 1-1.
Can someone answer this question?
Sorry no one can answer that question yet. This is the first hands on article I've read about Table Tennis for the Wii. It sounds pretty good for the only thing missing from the transition from 360 to Wii is the players sweat and shadows/reflections. That's pretty good. The 3 different ways to control sounds good and should add some variety of play but we will still have to wait for another hands on or review to hear about how the control plays out.
oh yea and so what's up with it using Rage? I tried to open the link but it didn't bring me anywhere. Why is it uber for it to use RAGE?
if you watch last weeks episoade of on the spot on gamespot.com, they had an in studio demo of the game and the dev said straight tax no bs that thius game is NOT running on the rage engine.
its evident when you look at the majorly downgraded graphics.
the other disturbing factor is that you do not control the players movements....just their swings. thy move from side to side on their own.
I want a Wii VS 360 screen comparison!
