The Excalibur team have released several shots of the D'talla class Romulan Warbird. The first three shots were taken ingame and feature detail mapping. The D'talla class, or "Type-A", Warbird was a medium-sized Romulan cruiser launched in the early 24th century. D'talla means "Great Duty". These ships served as the mainstay of the Romulan fleet until it was replaced by the D'deridex class Warbird. Four of these ships destroyed the U.S.S. Enterprise-C in Klingon space, but not before she took down one of them. The D'talla made its first appearance in the opening to Star Trek: New Worlds. As the Romulans feature heavily in Excalibur's campaign it is important that they have a wide array of ships to add variety to their fleet. It is roughly the equivalent of a Federation Ambassador class or a Klingon K'tinga.

The Star Trek Excalibur team have posted a new video showing ship movement within the game.
considering how generally large these ships are supposed to be, a more important thing will be chipping away at them with weapons.. I hope they don't just take visual and structural damage, experience catastrophic hull breacches so that you can see individual desks and personel and junk getting explosively ejected into space, and not just eventually blow up.
The Excalibur team have released a new version of their Model Viewer. This version includes the Galaxy class updated to Texture Specification 2. Several other ships are included. Some basic combat abilities and warp drive have been added. This utility also doubles as a benchmark - if you can run this, you will be able to run Star Trek Excalibur.
