how we sit here on N4G bickering over the minutae of console existence - core, casual, shipped, sold - while games like this are spreading over the world like a plague.

That was perhaps a negative sounding analogy, but it wasn't meant to be. Things are changing, for certain. I'm not sure how it will all pan out, but the market is definitely in a state of flux.
