STP: Wizard Hex Review

Chris Reed from Slide To Play writes:

When you boot up Wizard Hex for the first time, you see a hexagon-shaped game board sitting on a well-worn desk. Next to the board is an open book that seems to provide instructions on how to play the game. Cool, you think. So you read the instructions, which consist of a few short sentences and several pictures. Then you go to start up a match, and you realize that, even though your read the "instructions," you still have no idea how to play the game. Not so cool.

Just because you didn't get all the achievements the game has to offer doesn't mean you didn't get your moneys worth. Trying to equate your gamerscore/trophies to the value of the game just seem completely irrelevant. Seems you trying to create an equation to a problem that doesn't exist.

The only game that i actually got all the Achievements was Assassins Creed 2. Other game that i'm close to 100% is Mass Effect 2, only 2 are missing.

If any of those guys also play PS3 games, I guess they will never want to play the earlier PS3 games that don't have any trophy.

If any of them is planning to get a PS3, will they play great games such as Metal Gear Solid 4 that has no trophy?

The reason I use PS3 games as an example is gamers who love to play games for achievements and trophies probably will skip early PS3 games that have no trophy.

Damn! That's a lot a games..too bad I can't just buy CD with all of them on there..Good stuff though!

Ha ha, I should have mentioned that the list isn't meant to break your wallet. Think of it as being more like a guide of which games you should give a chance if you're looking for something new. And thankfully, most of the games on that list have demos available!

No DeathSpank? That is my favorite downlaodbale game this year :(

Murgatroyd74893d ago

Sorry, Frank. I considered DeathSpank simply because I know a lot of people liked it, but I ultimately decided not to because I found both games to be very repetitive and not quite funny enough to make up for that. Just keep in mind that this isn't meant to be an official list by any means; it's just a guy throwing his opinions out there for entertainment.

wow, a ton of great games. Greed Corp for the win :)

holy hell, very in depth. I really want to check out Back to the Future since I'm a fan of the movie (first two anyway) and Limbo was so creepy
And dont even get me started on Amnesia, I played about an hour of it and it scared the crap out of me. it was truly a good year for downloadable gaming!
Good article btw
