New True Crime: Hong Kong and X-Men Destiny images

GameDynamo - "Activision just shared with us a couple of new images of True Crime: Hong Kong and X-Men Destiny - the first one is a real screenshot of the game, while the other one is just a cool wallpaper. While we would have preferred a whole batch of screens full of revealing info, we're not going to complain here... after all, a picture is worth a thousand words, isn't it?"

Ummm... does that X-men pic count as a screenshot now?

Yi-Long4863d ago (Edited 4863d ago )

... they've got Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, and Guitar Hero money!

They honestly don't give a flying fuck about the quality of any of their games anymore cause they'll still be making tons of profits each year from the millions of lemmings who lap their generic shit up...

You think they are going to bother with going through all the trouble of actually posting an actual image from the actual game? Come on now(!) This shitty image has the phrase 'X-Men' in it. That's enough! 'The fans' don't need anything more. They'll be on the forums for weeks all over this, raving like drooling mad monkeys!

;)

Anyway, these are Activision games. Anyone who loves games and gaming shouldn't even consider buying these. Not just because most likely they'll be mediocre, but because you'd be feeding the Activision-tumor by giving it money.

Activision and Bobby are the cancer in the videogame-industry.

Yi-Long4863d ago

... yet up til now, there's been hardly any information, screenshots, videos, or whatever coming out. No hype whatsoever. It's going to be a very VERY quiet release.

... which most likely means it's a piss-poor game.

Personally, I LOVE Hong Kong and I love GTA-style sandbox games, but this game has never looked like a winner to me. From everything we have seen so far (which is very little), it just doesn't look or feel anything like the actual Hong Kong, the gameplay looked last-gen, and the main character looks bland.

Not sure who the guy in this picture is. Probably the bad guy, which makes little sense, but maybe they made a VERY last-minute change to the bland looking main-character, which would make even less sense.

Thing is , Yi, Activision didn't push Singularity AT ALL and that was a GOOD game(didn't need MP and could have spent the cash better on some adfs or more SP but still), Blur was a decent game and they didn't market that and so on and so forth.

All I'm saying is that if it isn't COD it can wither and die as far as Activision are concerned-even IF it's a quality product or big license(remember BloodStone-they didn't even push a Bond game FFS and it KILLED their studio so why make Bizarre, who make sodding car games, make it anyway???). That even carried if it's a GOOD game that could, with care, make a dent right now and you have to wonder about just how long Acti can keep allowing non COD games to die outside the nourishing glow of their publicity.

Ah, God knows but Acti do wind me up and I can't help but think both of these are being thrown to the wolves in favour of concentrating on more of the same.

Do they want all their studios o either shut down so they can slim down or to end up making map packs to feed the COD beast. IO say it again, it's odd, Singularity was one of the better SP FPS games of recent years and I can't recall seeing ONWE ad for it or ONE review pre release.

Yi-Long4862d ago

... on both accounts.

1: that it's actually a decent game and the fact they're not communicating any information or media or hype pre-release has nothing to do with the actual quality of the game...

2: Activision might be doing this on purpose just so they can indeed twist their studios arms to just work on their big games like CoD. I really wouldn't put it past them.

EliteDave934863d ago

Damn! i forgot about True crime Hong Kong! i have pre.order it i loved the first ones.

Yi-Long4863d ago

... just think rationally for a minute here, Dave.

Yes, there is a chance this might turn out to be a great game that's fun to play.

But.

IF that was the case.... wouldn't you think it would be getting just a little bit more marketing and hype right now!?

If I can give you some well-intended advice: cancel your pre-order, use the money to get some great games from some bargain-bins, and in a few months there's a HUGE chance that you will be able to pick up True Crime HK from those same bargain-bins for a fraction of the money. IF you're still interested by then.

Or better yet, just buy it 2nd hand, so Bobby/Activision don't get any of your money.

EliteDave934863d ago

K i might wait then.. When is the game comin out anyway? i havent heard anythin about it for months!

Yi-Long4862d ago

... which makes the media-silence all the more suspicious.

Anyway, there are tons of games in the bargain-bins which should keep you happy ;)

The 1st True Crime game was pretty decent. True Crime:New York was really mediocre though.

The Best and Worst of Superhero Games

Mrs Nesbitt from BBG writes: "The superhero genre is massive in the movie industry with MCU dominating the scene with several Avengers movies and other subsequent titles. So, what about video games? Similar to the game to movie transition, movies have not always transitioned very well. (Dare I mention Charlie’s Angels for GameCube?) Luckily for us, we have had some spectacular superhero games, and equally, some downright “what were they thinking” titles."

PS1 Spider-Man Wins it for me because Stan Lee narrated it all, his opening speech alone gets you pumped, also Worst: Spider-Man: Web of Shadows...ew

darthv722062d ago

I agree with the 1st spiderman. I have it on DC though. Hulk UD is a fun game as well.

Stalmaster2062d ago

Probably in the minority but I really enjoyed Batman Begins before the Arkham series came along.

MrsNesbitt2062d ago

Actually really enjoyed that too! But had to opt for Batman Returns on the SNES

hanko142062d ago

spider-man ten pin bowling was the best

AK912062d ago (Edited 2062d ago )

Deadpool was trash though, it's surprising to me that Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker isn't on the list but then again that's probably a good thing.

Ah yes and Spider-Man (2000) man that game was my childhood but the sequel Enter Electro was so underwhelming.

X-Men: Destiny Review - Neocrisis

Neocrisis - Does the emphasis on "choice," as opposed to a more traditional linearity, make Destiny stand out from the rest? Or does Destiny fall short of its potential?
