I find this funny...I randomly saw Torchlight on Steam and gave it a shot. Ended up loving the game and I'll be buying it off of Steam soon. Funny how it gets announced for XBLA and PSN the day I discover it, lol.

Cheeseknight284860d ago

I've had Torchlight sitting in my steam library for over a year now, and I haven't played it once (Except the demo).

Now, it's getting an XBLA release. Figures. I'll probably still pick it up again, along with BG&E HD.

dragunrising4860d ago

Exactly my predicament and future purchasing plan :-)

I can't seem to get into PC gaming. Steam has excellent sales over the holiday's and I always buy up the best of them. I have Team Fortress 2, and Left 4 Dead 2, Torchlight, BG &E, the Witcher, etc, etc and I can't find the ambition to complete them. Mouse and keyboard may be superior for a variety of games, but the "console experience" with controller, couch and TV are a must. Also, having to install games or worry if they'll run perfect is a major disincentive for me. Before someone says, "you can play PC games on your TV and couch w/ gamepad," I know, I'm aware. If I were to take PC gaming seriously I would have to invest in a decent desktop, and stop pretending I can play games newer than 2-3 years old on my 13" laptop...end of rant.

Cheeseknight284860d ago

I can beat that. I have 40 games in my Steam library, and I've played... 10 of them. That's not beat, but simply played. I even have all the X-Com games and Deus Ex in preparation for their reboots, but haven't touched them. Also have King's Bounty and Amnesia after hearing enough praise for them.

I think my backlog of games has breached 100 at this point. And now LBP2, Ghost Trick, and MvC3 are rapidly approaching. *sigh*

Kamikaze1354860d ago

@blindfromthesun

You know, you can always hook up your computer onto your TV and just play with a wireless controller on your couch. You can hook up your PS3, PS2, Gamecube, or even Xbox 360 controller as well.

GameTavern4860d ago

Awesome sounds like it will be an awesome Party!

wwm0nkey4860d ago

Im buying these 2 the second they come out!

Bathyj4860d ago

BG&E HD. Awesome.
This is coming to PSN as well right?
If not, looks like M$ finally got one up on the HD remakes.
Criminally underrated game. Everyone who can should get it.

Kamikaze1354860d ago

Yeah, both have been confirmed for a while to be getting PSN and XBLA releases.

Bathyj4860d ago

Nice.

I'd prefer it on a Bluray but I guess I'll have to download this one.

Ubisoft should put it on a disc with XIII and Rainbow 6 or something to make a retail release worthwhile.

RememberThe3574860d ago

I just beat BG&E earlier this year. The game is awesome. Please Ubisoft, make a BG&E2. Please!

Bathyj4860d ago

Dont you just love that song playing in the bar?

PROPANGANDA !

Its better than the Star Wars canteena to me.

New Games with Gold for July 2022 - Xbox Wire

It’s time to announce the July Games with Gold lineup! On the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, capture photos of the wondrous Beasts of Maravilla Island, and survive being stranded on a desolate moon base in Relicta. And for our classic lineup via Backward Compatibility, build and ride rollercoasters in Thrillville: Off the Rails, […]

Yawn.... I will say torchlight is fun, but i have that on my steamdeck. Relicta is also on PS+ Extra and looks like it would make a cool VR game. No PSVR support though.

VenomUK669d ago

@Darthv72 How did you shift this story about the Xbox Games with Gold lineup into a negative about PSVR not supporting one of the games?! 🤣

crazyCoconuts669d ago

It's pretty impressive actually.

darthv72669d ago (Edited 669d ago )

Hmm... that is funny. I see it more as a negative against XB. Like other games on both, some offer a VR mode for PS and this looked like it should be one of them. Then again it doesnt even offer VR for PC so... ehh.

RedDevils668d ago

That how professional troll at their best work.

ChasterMies669d ago

Why continues reporting this? Who is left that is still interested in Games with Gold?

crazyCoconuts669d ago

I guess if I paid $5/month for this crap I'd still want to know what I got...

Eidolon668d ago

Yeah, be interesting to know. I hardly care because of Game Pass now, still don't mind seeing what we get, but I've come to terms that it's mostly going to be nothing I'll play if have GP.

itsmebryan669d ago

They should get rid of games w gold. With Gamepass I have too many better games to even think about GWG.

crazyCoconuts669d ago

So they've managed to decrease the value you get each month without decreasing revenue by making the games crappier. If they still charged $5/month without giving you ANY games at all, it would open them up to criticism and direct comparisons to PS+ without any way to subjectively spin the message

Crows90668d ago (Edited 668d ago )

It's also part of gamepass ultimate. It's good to see since it directly competes with ps extra

northpaws669d ago

This is beyond bad... kinda shitty move to force all their subscribers to get gamepass.

VersusDMC669d ago

Technically forcing people to move to Gamepass Ultimate. Regular gamepass doesn't include Gold.

Silly gameAr668d ago

I guess that's that value that everyone keeps talking about.

KillBill668d ago

Technically you aren't forced to buy anything. And Xbox Live gold can be bought separately. https://www.xbox.com/en-US/...

KillBill668d ago

What are you talking about you can still buy Xbox Live Gold on its own if you want to. You guys need to stop having conversations about Xbox if you know nothing about it. https://www.xbox.com/en-US/...

Silly gameAr668d ago (Edited 668d ago )

I guess the comments flew right over your head, huh? If GP was such a good value, gold would come with game pass, without having to get the more expensive opinion.

KillBill668d ago

@silly - what? Point is that gold can be had WITHOUT game pass. simple as that. Nothing forcing you to buy game pass.

gamer9668d ago

@ Silly, not sure what you're trying to say, you want game pass ultimate for the price of xbox live gold? That's ridiculous the amount of full price day 1 games you get included in game pass - you don't get that for cheap. Nobody is forced to get game pass, if the value is there you subscribe. if there's a drought in games you unsubscribe like i just did a month ago. Will likely get back on game pass this fall/holiday and into 2023 when the games are flooding in.

The Enduring Legacy of Xbox Live 1.0

Sure, there was online gaming back in the day but the modern age of online video gaming began almost twenty years ago with Xbox Live 1.0.

The origin of paid online.

PrimeVinister995d ago

Lol it definitely deserves its mention

franwex995d ago (Edited 995d ago )

Haha. Yep. To be fair, I feel that it was actually worth it because it kept a good minimum standard. There was horrible lag back in the day and a lot of cheating/hacking. More so than today.

PrimeVinister995d ago (Edited 995d ago )

That is arguable seeing as how good similar PC services are these days. The lack of cheaters on console is the closed ecosystem rather than extra effort by MS/Sony

XbladeTeddy995d ago

"To be fair, I feel that it was actually worth it because it kept a good minimum standard. There was horrible lag back in the day and a lot of cheating/hacking. More so than today."

The horrible lag back then was due to peole not having the speeds needed to run games, peoples internet speeds were all over the place. Hacking is as bad today, if not worse than back then. People now have access to sophisticated hacking programmes that were nowhere near as prevalent as they are today. Anticheat software was also available way before Xbox Live and the paid online services became a thing.

I gamed online a lot from 1999 onwards and had great times playing without having issues with people cheating and no one had to pay for an online subscription.
