WTF is this? This isn't Fight Night - I don't want some lame scripted story, I want to create my own fighter and make my own story. Fight Night is a boxing franchise about boxing, not the cliched underworld gangster, mobster, prison drama crap this is. This game doesn't fit into the Fight Night series.
Very dissapointed in the route EA have taken here - deciding to cheapen the whole experience with a stupid story and not offer Move support. This was the last EA Sports franchise I had any hope for after the shockingly bad FIFA 11 and the last few Tiger Woods games.

From what I understand you will be able to do everything you could before only career mode is a bit more than a bunch of squares with train or fight written on them.

But then I love FIFA 11, so I have a feeliong we won't be in agreement ;)

I want a more in depth career mode as the career modes of the past Fight Night games have always been a let down however I absolutely do not want an underworld/ prison/ mobster cliched story.
I want to see a more realistic approach towards taking my fighter to the top of the boxing world and eventually into the Hall of Fame - I want deeper and more enjoyable training modes instead of the mundane ones we keep getting, I want to take my fighter to the olympics when starting out in the amateurs, I want to be fighting for real belts and titles, I want to have the opportunity to become my own promoter once I reach the top to negotiate the big super fights, I want to have the ability to make my fighter either a fan favourite or a villian based on my fighting and promotion techniques or perhaps even have an interview option after each televised fight and have an RPG type list of responses I can give and decide whether to show my opponent respect and be the good guy or diss him and be the bad guy.

As far as FIFA 11 is concerned it is the most infuriating online experience I have ever had, even worse than past Pro Evos.

Edit: You say you love FIFA, but would you welcome a cliched story to the career mode? Perhaps your a kid growing up on a council estate and doing keepy ups with a bunch of old rolled up socks in the car park is your only escape from your abusive alcoholic father. Then a scout spots you, asks you to come along to try out for his team and then BAM! your playing for Macclesfield Town in their under 16 reserves. As you progress you can start dating pop stars, perhaps marry one, become an underwear model, release your own brand of aftershave, divorce your pop star wife, develop a drink problem, go into rehab etc etc.

I feel career mode needed something as it got a little boring. What they've done looks entertaining to me so I'm excited for this one.

From what I've seen so far this is going to be a good title, but we will have to wait and see because these trailers are not telling everything about the game play although they look great.I still play the last version even if it leaves me wanting more in the single player modes.I would glad to see more damage from those hard blows like nose bleeding or blood at the corner of the lips and redness on the body from body shots.Needs a better training mode something like version 3 had to build fighter.More realtime fighters, you can never have enough well named fighters new or old.A better between round corner instuctions that will help you win the fight not just talk.More crowd talk before and during the fight.lets get better instuctions by the ref during the fight and the doctor in the corner and if there is going to be ring girls at least make them look good(lol).

Fight Night Round 5: We Want A New Fight Night Game

It’s been almost a decade since the critically acclaimed Fight Night Champion, the final title in a series of beloved boxing video games from Electronic Arts. Since 2011, the studio has been focused on its mixed martial arts title, UFC, instead. But with the rise of the popularity of boxing again, thanks to fighters like Floyd Mayweather and Tyson Fury, could we possibly have another Fight Night game on the way?

IT'SSSSSSSS FIIIIIIGHT NIIIIIIGHT!!!!
I hope they make it like round four instead of champions but ill take any fight night at this point

They need to go back to the good roots of FN R2 and FN R3. Everything after watered down the formula too much and enabled gimmicks. FNR2&3 are some of the greatest fighting games ever.

Kurt Russell462d ago

3 was fun and you could smash out so many haymakers. But I found 4 more technical and enjoyed it for that too.

navi87462d ago

At least in 3 you had to wind up your shots, it was more skill based as opposed to 4 where you just held down L1 or R1 whilst flicking the analogue stick.

navi87462d ago

Agreed, i played FNR 3 the most on Xbox 360 back in the day and using the analogue sticks to kinda mimic punches thrown was fun af. FNR 4 ruined it by just flicking the analogue stick to throw hooks, felt really unintuitive after the previous games.

They'd ruin it like they do everything these days
