Fight Night Champion: Full Spectrum Punch Control Saves Your Thumbs, Controllers

PSBlog: Happy New Year PlayStation fans! As one of the Community Managers at EA SPORTS, I’m lucky enough to work with some of the most talented development teams in all of sports video games. It is absolute lunacy to not include Move/Kinect support into this game.

EA said: "the average gamer, (this is what they think of you all), isn't healthy enough to last 1 round, let alone 8 to 12 rounds of motion controlled gaming. It'd be a huge waste of resources in the end because only a small fraction would be able to enjoy using the feature."

That's sad. They get to dictate the market based off the largest demograph and how they've taken care of themselves. Opposed to people like me, people who have taken care of themselves and are in extremely good shape and don't like playing regular video games. Games like (Halo, GTA, Red Dead Redemption, Gears of War, Call of Duty, Final Fantasy, Metal Gear and many countless others) -- I don't like any of those games. I'd rather play The Fight: Lights out for an hour than any one of those games.

But it would make for the best career mode of any game. Boxing amateurs don't start out going 12 3 minute rounds either. It would probably be the best workout game ever made. I am somewhat disappointed because I enjoy the hell out of the fight lights out and would love to have a real boxing game that doesn't use cheap shots/dirty moves and real boxing rules.

No move support? This just went from a buy to a rental. The Fight Lights out will tide me over until someone does it right.

Lol, buddy is such a troll. He includes xbox exclusives and multiplats in an article that is about FIGHT NIGHT. What a bitch. No wonder you have 1 bubble.

no move/kinect support? no buy for me

SIX4880d ago

It will happen. Maybe not for this game, but perhaps the one after. How could they not? It's a no brainer.

wu-stix4880d ago

Same here. I guess it the fight lights out until the next fighting game with move support.

ilikestuff4880d ago

they need to stop being bozos and put the motion support in, or sony and microsoft need to tell them they have too. it cant take that long to put into a game.

wu-stix4880d ago

And how hard would it be. Sony just need to give them the move code for the fight and then EA can implement it.

I cannot understand why this game cannot have motion support as an OPTION. This would make it a dual purpose game and give it the replay value it needs. You could play without motion to have the arcade experience, or use motion to transform the game into a "manly" workout game while doing your boxing career.

It could add depth to the game seeing how you would REALLY do against some of the computer opponents, allowing you to step into the ring with Ali, Tyson, and Manny.

The more Control options, the better IMO. It gives everyone an angle of how they would like to play this game in their favorite way, or allow someone to add it as a workout routine, staying in shape, while getting their gaming boxer fix on at the same time.

I admit, I am a bit disappointed. But I know this, they had BETTER NOT sell Move and Kinect support as add-on DLC. It is only a matter of time before someone tries to pull that crap on us.

everybody lets get at EA for this cuz i just knew they would support the motion controls hell put it in as dlc that way you will be testing the waters in a way

Fight Night Round 5: We Want A New Fight Night Game

It’s been almost a decade since the critically acclaimed Fight Night Champion, the final title in a series of beloved boxing video games from Electronic Arts. Since 2011, the studio has been focused on its mixed martial arts title, UFC, instead. But with the rise of the popularity of boxing again, thanks to fighters like Floyd Mayweather and Tyson Fury, could we possibly have another Fight Night game on the way?

IT'SSSSSSSS FIIIIIIGHT NIIIIIIGHT!!!!
I hope they make it like round four instead of champions but ill take any fight night at this point

They need to go back to the good roots of FN R2 and FN R3. Everything after watered down the formula too much and enabled gimmicks. FNR2&3 are some of the greatest fighting games ever.

Kurt Russell462d ago

3 was fun and you could smash out so many haymakers. But I found 4 more technical and enjoyed it for that too.

navi87462d ago

At least in 3 you had to wind up your shots, it was more skill based as opposed to 4 where you just held down L1 or R1 whilst flicking the analogue stick.

navi87462d ago

Agreed, i played FNR 3 the most on Xbox 360 back in the day and using the analogue sticks to kinda mimic punches thrown was fun af. FNR 4 ruined it by just flicking the analogue stick to throw hooks, felt really unintuitive after the previous games.

isarai463d ago

They'd ruin it like they do everything these days
