TouchGen - Shadow Guardian Review

TouchGen - This Uncharted rip-off jumps from one ledge to another, loses its footing, and falls hard on its pretty face.

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves was critically accepted as being the best console game of 2009. There are many factors that contributed to it’s success: a great storyline, believable characters, good voice acting, dazzling graphics, varied gameplay, a solid multi-player mode, and many others. Aside from it’s graphics, Shadow Guardian fails to deliver in any of these areas.

Pocket Gamer: Shadow Guardian HD Review

Pocket Gamer: Naughty Dog’s Uncharted series is well-known for its lush graphics and grand set-pieces. While it owes a lot to titles like Tomb Raider and Prince of Persia – not to mention the Indiana Jones movies – it succeeds in having its own distinct voice.

Meanwhile, Gameloft’s ‘tribute’ to Drake’s globe-trotting antics never quite speaks for itself. Which is hardly surprising, considering what it's overtly squaring itself up to.

Pocket Gamer: Giving players vertigo on their mobile is quite a skill, but the dizzying chasms you navigate in Shadow Guardian - often with feet dangling helplessly over the abyss - nearly pull it off.

Gameloft’s ‘tribute’ to PS3 phenomenon Uncharted excels in building vast, often beautiful environments for you to leap confidently around like a backpack-sporting Prince of Persia, but fumbles its gunplay like an early Lara Croft.
