Miles Jacobson, Studio Director at Sports Interactive, developers of the hugely successful Football Manager series, is to receive an OBE as part of this year’s New Years Honours awards. Awarded for services to the computer games industry, Jacobson has been nominated for the honour following years of dedication to both the establishment of Sports Interactive as a pioneering UK development studio and his considerable charity work as part of GamesAid.
Sports Interactive has exposed more of the game’s workings to players than ever. It feels both fresh and familiar at the same time, while being the best FM has ever played at launch.

He deserves it along with all of the Sports Interactive Devs Football Manager 2011 is The Best of The Series keep up the good work!
He really does deserve it. Hes always around on the community board. Giving feedback, receiving it, and helping out. (Well, he was when I was a regular user)
Congrats.
Good for him. Just a little nit-pick, the writers of the article should have stated what an OBE is when it was first used, so in the first sentence. It drives me crazy not knowing what something is until later in a story. But yeah that's cool he seems to have done a ton for the community, need more guys like this dude in the industry.
