Five In-Production Videogame Movies That Surely Ain’t Happening

Zavvi.com: "It is widely agreed that there has only ever been one truly successful game-to-flick adaptation – Paul WS Anderson’s outstandingly daft Mortal Kombat – which is now over fifteen years old. Since then, gamers have been subjected to the heinous, inexplicable career of the..."

but to this date, hands down I feel the best game to movie is Silent Hill... and I feel there is no reason to contest that!

I actually kind of want someone to make a Bioshock movie. If done right it could be an awesome movie.

Actually they are going to make Bioshock into a movie along with Gears of War which is in production right now.The new MK looks awsome and the guy who made the latest Superman took over for Peter Packson on Halo.I believe they are making Deadspace as well there is a director but no cast of yet and obvisouly Drake Uncharted but I feel that thats a bad choice to make into a movie only because of Indiana Jones series and others that are like it already. But I do agree with Iwentbrokeforgamming that Silent Hill was by far the best game to movie ever made to date.Very creepy and well excecuted.

Dear Hollywood:
If you’re going to make a videogame-to-movie adaptation do it right or don’t do it at all and for goodness’ sake stop hiring Uwe Boll! How many more videogame franchises does he need to destroy before you realize his adaptations s*ck? Out of all adaptations I seen so far Silent Hill is the best one and I was really looking forward for the sequel until I read this…

“title has been updated from the generic Silent Hill 2 to Silent Hill: Revelations 3D”

Revelations 3D? smh

All I can say is I'm glad that the MGS movie fell through. But I think Hayter himself said that it's not completely off the table. Just swipe it off there lads.

Knowing Hollywood they'll probably get Nicolas Cage to play Solid Snake...

KeiserSosay47884868d ago

They should just get Kurt Russell, that's where they ripped alot of the character for solid snake

Pliskin. From Escape from New York and Escape from LA.

I love Russell,
But come on, the guy is drawing a pension.

Maybe he could play old snake....

What? Next you're gonna tell me that Mario was originally called Jumpman or something silly like that.

i still have really fond memories of the rocketeer, so a dark void movie could have been decent, but probably wouldn't have.
guess we'll never know now.

Why Silent Hill Will Never Be the Same

Estelle Mejia says: Silent Hill, for those who don’t know, is a psychological horror survival series that has declined somewhat. Fans point to the fact that the original team who helmed Silent Hill 1-4, named Team Silent, has been split, either working on different games for Konami or leaving the company altogether. This has left the series without a consistent team to helm the series for about 20 years, give or take.
