The Most Anticipated Wii Games Of 2011 - Game Informer

GI: On the surface, it seems that the Wii's lineup for 2011 isn't quite as robust as those for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. Part of that may be because Nintendo is focusing heavily on the launch of the 3DS. However, if you remember this year, two of their biggest titles weren't even revealed until June at E3. We knew nothing of Donkey Kong Country Returns and Kirby's Epic Yarn until the Nintendo press conference, and they're both on retail shelves as I type this. Because of this, the list you see below may be just a small taste of what Nintendo has in store for the Wii in 2011. Here's what we know of for sure as of right now.

Skyward Sword's new twist on the Zelda universe is intriguing. I read in the latest GamePro they are getting away from the whole Overworld, Dungeon, Overworld, Dungeon, etc etc like the series is known for. I hope they don't go linear. I would love it if they give a more Elder scrolls path. Maybe giving numerous side missions other than the few scattered on top of dungeon crawling. I would like more choices in events. Usually zelda has about 10 dungeons, various puzzle areas for rupees and hearts, and of course a magic upgrade spot, extra hidden items and the traditional TRADE GAME where you start of with an item and trade it amongst 50 other people until you get a reall cool item(Like that giant sword in Ocarina). I would like companions and ability to maybe go a little evil on this go. Just a thought.

Other game that really blows me away is Lost in Shadow. A really cool looking game, that I am jealous isn't on PS3/360. Would of looked stunning in HD.

Sell it now, you'll make more money, then buy a used one from Gamestop $99, for Zelda and take it back to get a full refund.

It's funny, because Zelda was the only reason I bought a Wii at launch. I tried waiting on SSB Brawl, but I couldn't wait any longer, and I'm glad I sold it then, because Brawl wasn't as good as Melee, and I sold it for $400.

I want to get a ps3 in 2011. mainly for the blu ray. mortal kombat 9 looks amazing, it goes back to its 2d roots. Red dead redemption looks amazing, i want metal gear solid and that indiana style game that everyone keeps banging on about, grand tourismo etc etc so will get a ps3.

but wii will still kick ass. hopefully last story will get released in europe, that will be game of the year material. zelda. hope there is a new f zero on wii. kirby epic yarn, lost in shadow. I need to buy some games that i missed out on last year. Fragile dreams, donkey kong, epic mickey, ivy the kiwi etc ect

There are so much secrets and quasi treasure platform puzzles to discover ,..and those beetles and shit to collect,..
I know I've spent at least about half on some stupid minigame,..and gave up

I know I immersed myself totally ,.. and don't expect nothing less from the new one,..

I thin to find/solve all of what game has to offer would take 150 hours easily,..

I did collect everything, and still it wasnt over 40 hours.
( and no I do not use guides).

On my second play trough without collecting everything i clocked around 28 hours.
Perhaps im just good at the games? Dunno.

only Ps3, 3Ds and PSP2 have most anticipated even though we dont know what psp2 has but most likley they will have MGS peace walker2, uncharted launch or jak and dexter for psp2 launch and ratchet and clank, mortal kombat, GT, new gurrilla game that is FPS. a Final fantasy, a warhawk game.

Some decent games coming out, I didn't know a Jurassic park game was rumored. Hmm.. I remember the one where you could make your own island, basically the Rollercoaser tycoon style one, was really fun.
Zelda, conduit, Mario, a decent list. Hopefully some other cool exclusives are announced though.
