Infamous 2 reminds me of the improvements made from uncharted 1 to uncharted 2.just please change the voice it really doesnt fit.

That's the new footage. Well it's the same as the demo, but it has new-old Cole in it, better graphics, and it shows a little more from the beginning of the demo, more of the melee system (which looks a lot better, but to much slow down), and a little after the original demo.

It's the same demo obviously but If you watched the old version of the demo as many times as I have you would have noticed all the upgrades. The new melee attacks look so awesome as do the destructable environments. I can't wait to see some ice abilities.

I also think that this will be GOTY material, Uncharted 2 was almost perfect so the third can only make minor improvements and tell another great story

but this one can really explode, the first infamous is an amazing game but the graphics are not what we've come to expect from a PS3 exclusive, the gameplay was great but with a lot room for improvement and the story was good but too spread out and lacking momentum

if they correct that then this will be the equivalent of Uncharted 2 but open world with superpowers

...watch this footage and compare it to ALL other footage and you'll notice that while Cole is wire grinding his leg that is bent deforms really strangely while he's riding the lines. Lame that old videos get posted a NEW news :(

Yeh, it's all just buffed up and polished with tutorial elements like highlights and text put in-the fight at the start seems longer than before and some animations a little fuller rooting Cole(and I'm STILL unsure whether the current compromise between old and new model Cole is best)in his gameworld a little better.

Whatever, it looks stunning and a great leap forwards in terms of looks. If they nail the few game play kinks the first had(chain link fences baffling the game for instance)then this could well be the big surprise package of next year for Sony-who knows, they may even have an online mode to shock us with? Maybe there's a chance for some co-op missions as I just don't see it as Vs MP compatible. If, however, there are other characters introduced on both sides then you could imagine some cool as f%@* co-op stuff to play, no?

Having the morality system DID make me play the game twice for plat last time out but something extra to keep us playing would be amazing, imho. Looking smoother every time we see it, though and reminds me I still haven't bought the Sly collection to introduce my littlest to one of my faves!

i don't like how wires get shinny to indicated that you can use them. That looks like something for casuals, to hold hands and point at obvious. I didn't need it in first game, don't need it in second. It pulls you out of the experience somehow. At least while i was watching

This new voice doesn't fit this version of COle. He sounds like 19 year old in 35 year old mans body, it's so odd. Plus he seems to old to be dressed like that. Just make him 100% he was in first game. They made mistake on changing him at first place, but it was manageable since actor fitted the looks, but now it sounds horrible. It seems like COle has major identity crisis.

The way to do it is have the wires light up on the easy setting but on harder settings they don't light up.

His comment makes perfect sense. The wires only highlight during the cases to help you along. Why would you expect them to highlight all the time?

I think what Gandalf meant is that this chase scene might be some kind of tutorial, hence why the wires would shine.

Anyway who knows, even if they always shine there would probably be an option to deactivate it (like deactivating the Runner vision in Mirror's Edge).

And about Cole's new voice, we can't really judge that, we've not heard a lot from him, only time will tell if it really fits him.
"Plus he seems to old to be dressed like that", I don't think that's a valid point. And really, what's the difference, he stopped wearing his coat, woohoo.

Edit: I don't really like Cole's current face, to me, it is even worse than the previous New Cole. In the end, it is Sucker Punch's vision that matters, but I think they ought to tweak it a little more.

I think this chase is early in the game and is the first encounter when you actually can grind on the wires, so basically like a tutorial to new comers to the series. Im sure it's not like that throughout the whole game.

Only a few wires are glowing, which indicates those are the ones the game wants you to use (a-la, tutorial) also, there’s text feeding you input info... which also alludes to it being a tutorial.

personally, i don't mind seeing this Limo Chase footage over and over again.

too many games suffered from over exposure of new environments before release.

Resistance 2, Uncharted 2, Killzone 2, etc all showed waaay too much of their campaign before release. not all of it, mind you, but to the point where getting to a new locale didn't have that
"holy shit, we're actually going HERE??" feel. i LIKE that the developers these days aren't revealing every location, showing off every setpiece, and only showing us an early portion of the game.

after all, you don't need to see Nathan Drake in Atlantis (speculation, of course), to show off the new lighting, combat, and animations, do you?

i don't need to see every new area in inFAMOUS 2 to see that lighting, combat, game play mechanics, and animations have been improved significantly since inFAMOUS 1. the fact that the game takes place in an ENTIRELY NEW city is more than enough information for me, unlike certain OTHER open world sequels that decided to set itself in the SAME CITY *cough*Crackdown 2*cough*.

since i've been following inFAMOUS 2 from it's unveiling, i immediately picked out some improvements from the last time we saw this gameplay section:

1) The guy playing the game didn't suck. Many of the other vids had some lame game journalist who's never touched a controller getting wailed on by enemies, butchering the video.

2) Lighting and particle effects have been improved significantly since the last video. The smoke and explosion effects also seemed improved.

3) Cole's animations are more polished. It could still use some work, but the "floaty" look to the animations from inFAMOUS 1 look to be dialed down. Not quite Uncharted levels in terms of making Cole look like he is IN the environment, but much improved.

4) Combat looks more fluid also, and this video showed off some nice new melee additions (the jump launch attack, and the ground slide uppercut attack).

5) Cole's voice actor doesn't suck. i'm currently replaying inFAMOUS (my PS3 died, and i lost all my game saves, so i'm replaying my games), and Cole's overly gravelly, i'm trying too hard to sound badass voice is grating. i chalk it up to his vocal chords being raw due to the explosion that gave him his powers nearly burning him from the inside out, but new Cole's voice is fine. i can't judge a whole performance off of a few minutes of footage (the Comic Book video, and this section), but i doubt it'll be a concern when the game is actually in my hands. afterall, Cole's rather bland character design in inFAMOUS 1 didn't detract from the fuck awesome game play.

6) the wait for it's summer release is getting shorter with each passing day!

i'm impressed with how the game is coming along, and i don't mind seeing this mission again. i AM looking forward to learning a bit more about the Karma system, as well as the Save feature and a his new abilities. i don't need to know EVERYTHING, just the broad strokes.

the swamp video and this video are more than enough to keep me excited until it's summer release.

As someone who played the first infamous. i really didnt enjoy the game got repetitive. bt after some thoughts dont think that was the major issue to me it was the thought of the hype of te game yet. it was full of jaggy's it was really washed out.
on the other hand i had to say to myself its there first game there first party give it a chance wait for the sequel.

they have done everything rigt this time mainly the engine seems very close to that of UC3, silky smooth not a jaggy in sight.as long as it doesnt get like spiderman back and forth doing same type stuff. then i think this game stands a chance. now this my opinion. im not knocking the game it has high potential but lets not forget prototype come out the same time had everything infamouse had but more. guess what prototype 2 is out simular time.
