Why You Should Give Two Worlds II A Chance

HBG writes: Just the name gives some gamers chills. Two Worlds was easily one of the worst games of this generation. Initially, it was not a very well received RPG and was frequently referred to as the “poor man’s Oblivion.” For many reasons it stands out to gamers as an all-around bad game. Let’s face it, the console ports were poorly developed and plagued with issues, and the PC version wasn’t exactly a dream either.

While I played the first one, for about an hour, that was enough. I also knew of a person who was so pumped for this game, and when he got it, took the day off work to play it. He gave it as many chances as he could, and he hated it. I have been talking to him about the second one, and all he does is laugh.

While I think people should give it a try, I have a feeling most of those who do, have not even heard of the first one. The first one gave me such a bad experience, I am not going near this one. Sorry, but when you say Two Worlds, it never is followed by anything good.

I personally don't judge games based on the past of their respective series. Turns out that great devs can put out crappy games and that traditionally bad devs can suddenly put out something great. Even more, a game can be upgraded post-release by the same devs and make the game go from pretty good to awesome. The Witcher is an example of this.

Anyway, to each their own. I will personally wait and see how each game performs before deciding to pass or play.

Ive completed this game and it is a huge improvement over the first one ^^ Hardly any bugs and the ones that are are so minor they dont count xD graphics are good and combat has been improved ^^

Every1 who plays rpg's should at least rent this game since it tis awesome :)

I agree with pogibaldy, dont judge games or dev. Two worlds sucked but part 2 is one of my most anticipated rpgs. They learned from their mistakes. Divinity 2 launched buggy as hell but was one of the best wrpgs ive played. They listened to all the fans and rereleased it (the dragon knight saga) with a 20 hour expansion, fixed all the bugs exc, like with the witcher. Everything ive seen looks great but time will tell.

I've ben hearing good things and bad things. Apparently the exploartion is a bit crap, The world is small, most dungeons are quest related and you can't go in them.

I don't rate games of their past entries but umm well, third times a charm!

i will buy this instead of Mass Effect 2... this is more RPG for me

ATi_Elite4890d ago

Two worlds II seems a lot better than Arcania Gothic 4 and will fill the void until The Witcher 2 is released.

Once Dragon Age 2 and The Witcher 2 are released Two Worlds II will be forgotten.

RedDead4890d ago

Witcher 2 makes my knob hard

ATi_Elite4890d ago (Edited 4890d ago )

Me too,

The Witcher 2 = instant Full on Chubby

Two Worlds II not so much.

the game looks so boring..

MoeThirteen4890d ago

I've been hearing a lot of buzz about this game although I'm not much of an RPG fan.

Deleting4890d ago

I can't get past how bad the first one was, I usualy give games a chance but because of the first one and spending a lot of time on Elder Scrolls Oblivion I don't think I can even look at the second one.

CrzyFooL4890d ago

The second game is WAY better. It's pretty good, but not great. It's like Oblivion in 3rd person with multiplayer and less polish. Its very open, addictive and will definitely hold you over until Skyrim.

Baka-akaB4890d ago

your loss . Beyond related plot , it's a wonder they didnt just call it a new ip , given the gap of quality between the two .

After Nine Years, Two Worlds II Gets Final Single-Player Expansion Next Month

Topware Interactive will deliver the final piece of single-player DLC for its 2010 RPG Two Worlds II early next month.

I enjoyed this game on my X360, much better than the first one. Sucks we have to wait so long for TW3. I hope they port this game to PS4/X1 in the meantime, especially after all these updates and new expansions. Would certainly help build some hype for the third entry, at least a little.

rawshack1644d ago

Yes it's a very underrated games I'm all so hoping it gets port to ps4 one day

MadLad1643d ago

Guess they're officially done milking the only passable game they've released. They can always rename Raven's Cry again and pull a couple more sales from the unknowing public.

Played this on PS3 it wasn’t bad for a B game but in no way did it “offer an array of unique approaches to classic game elements” and sure as hell didn’t push any envelopes. Why release this multiplayer so many years later ? They should re-release for this gen consoles for 19.99 with the updates

winter_hill2094d ago

I enjoyed this game, much better than the first one. With Two Worlds 3 coming next year, I would love to see a remaster of this on current gen.

lol what ? i thought this 2010/2011 game was dead already and now they are adding micro transactions ?? at least as the article said they are adding dlcs.

MadLad2525d ago (Edited 2525d ago )

From the same people that provided me a review copy of Raven's Cry then, when I gave the game a 1 due to the fact I found it unfinished, threatened me with defamation (nothing ever happened there).
Then, when they re-released the game on Steam as "Vendetta" claimed everything was fixed (even though it wasn't broken in the first place, right), but then refused to give me code for the re-release.

That re-release sits at a highly negative status on Steam, with most claiming they can't even run the game.
Just saying.

TheColbertinator2525d ago

Raven's Cry was broken. Everything gaming shouldn't be.

MilkMan2525d ago

Huh? I thought this game was done and done?
