That ^

Best of GTA and heavy rain. This will be a huge game like all non racer Rockstar games.

NeoBasch4890d ago

Hmmm... Red Dead Redemption had an interesting style as well, but I prefer games like Heavy Rain, Uncharted 2, Mass Effect, and Persona 3 still. I don't know. That might be just me though. : \

STREET x KING4890d ago

I'm looking forward to this game. Looks promising, seems to have the best facial animations I've seen in video games. More games should use this new tech.

starchild4890d ago (Edited 4890d ago )

With this they have just pole vaulted over the uncanny valley. There is literally no uncanny valley effect to these characters. This is vastly superior to anything that has ever been done before in a game. The characters seem completely believable and life like. The rest of the graphics are also astounding.

Looking to take Heavy Rain, Mass Effect, Fallout and The Old Republic in script pages. I am interested to see how this one plays out. R* always gives you a good or not so good vs bad side in the choices you make. As a cop game, I am curious to know how you progress. I hear you start out as a rookie and move up to homicide. That really intrigues me. The Noire of it all is something I love. I hope they really let you investigate crime scenes. I want more than shooting. i want interigations and getting on you hands and knees looking for clues. Going into a house and being able to search it. Taking photos and all of the works. I love Ace Attorney series and Cing's Hotel Dusk on DS and hope to see some real puzzling investigation in this one. It would def change up the gameplay too. It looks like their will be tons of cutscenes in this one, and I love the facial features. I think they have really gotten the engine looking good. I am excited to add this to my watch list for 2011. But holy heck I am going broke next year.

NotChrisHansen4890d ago

and you'll need to aquire a search warrant before searching someone's house. Just adds to the realism

FrankMcSpank4890d ago

That's what I like, or hell say 'F it' and go in like Training Day, with a Chinese take-out menu. I would love it if you could have the option of playing it straight, cutting a few corners, or going all out From Paris with Love.

DaBadGuy4890d ago (Edited 4890d ago )

Current release window is Q1/Q2 2011. I hope it's sooner rather than later.

starchild4890d ago (Edited 4890d ago )

I know, I can't wait for it.

2011 will probably be one of the best years in gaming ever. Just in terms of multiplatform games, there is more than I will ever have the time or money to play.

LA Noire
Dead Space 2
Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Batman: Arkham City
Crysis 2
New Tomb Raider
Rage
Thief 4
Mass Effect 3

And a lot more.

Stealth20k4890d ago (Edited 4890d ago )

actually this wont mean a thing because the majority of companys dont have the budget to pull this off and the time, its taken like 5 years

I want ar tonelico III, disgaea 4, the another world, tales of X, valkyria 3 for next year

All these characters from western games look exactly the same, and all photo realistic graphics look exactly the same, its boring as hell.

Graphics in games is irrelevant if everything looks boring.

starchild4890d ago

Why so negative?

So everything has to have a stylized Japanese manga look or else it sucks? There are several things more important than graphics, but what is wrong with some games going for an ultra realistic look?

I think there is room for different visual approaches in games. I definitely don't agree that if a game takes a realistic approach to graphics that it automatically looks boring.

bunfighterii4890d ago

One man's boring is another man's absorbing. Each to their own.

Marquis_de_Sade4890d ago

It's taken 5 years because this is the first use of this technology, besides I could say that the majority of characters in Japanese games look the same, but I'm not as ignorant as you.

iceman064890d ago

I'm sure that all of that time and money in R&D was NOT just for this game. They probably intend on streamlining (financially) the process and licensing it out.
As for the rest, that's up to personal tastes. I enjoy the JRPG style just as much as photo realism. I agree that graphics alone don't make a game. But, there IS something special about realistic graphics combined with atmosphere and gameplay that can be magical.

L.A. Noire And Bully — Rockstar's Lost Gems That Deserve A Sequel As Much As GTA

Hanzala from eXputer: "I do appreciate GTA 6, Rockstar, but if I could trade it for a new L.A. Noire or a Bully game, I'd do so in a heartbeat."

Skuletor41d ago

How are they lost? You can get L.A. Noire on Steam, PS5, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch and Bully is on the PS5 and Xbox Series too.

Psychonaut8541d ago

I want a new Manhunt game. But that will never happen.

Demetrius40d ago

Mfs are too sensitive nowadays and would cry instead of being concerned bout real world problems

Demetrius40d ago

Whenever gta 6 launch we won't be getting another rockstar title for another 10 years lol but on the positive side they bou to come back n show how open world supposed to be done 🔥

Skuletor40d ago

I won't expect any singleplayer DLC like IV's The Lost & Damned or The Ballad of Gay Tony after it launches either

12 Years Later, L.A. Noire is Still an Excellent Experience

There was a lot to love about Rockstar and Team Bondi's 2011 open world title.

One I never finished. I've been looking at the ps4 version off Amazon the last few months just never bit

Knightofelemia145d ago

It's worth playing LA Noire is one of my favorite Rockstar games. But I would also check out pawnshops or thrift stores if you want the game dirt cheap. Someone may have been dumb enough to dump the game.

andy85145d ago

Baffles me when people have these opinions about acclaimed games 😂

RhinoGamer88146d ago

100% agree... not perfect, but an engaging/refreshing experience.

sagapo146d ago

Agree, at time of release those facial expressions were amazing! They still hold strong even today imo.
The game on its own was good. Something fresh, but sidequests were a bit meh after a while.

Nacho_Z146d ago

I picked it up on sale recently, going to play it next summer. I'll get more out of it this time, first time around I treated the open world like it was GTA and goofed about, whereas now I'll play it with more respect. RDR2 has trained me well.

I also hadn't read Raymond Chandler at the time so presumably that'll add another layer of enjoyment too.

1nsomniac146d ago (Edited 146d ago )

Absolutely stunning game. So underrated. Played through it again last year and it still stands up so well. Like many of rockstars games it’s actually a far better experience on PC. I didn’t enjoy it as much on console. Completed it at least 3 times on pc.

The rumours of a sequel are awesome news despite the fact I think Rockstar are now the shell of the company they once were.

SyntheticForm146d ago

Team Bondi made a hell of a game.
