The Twelve Games of Christmas: Day One

Merry Christmas! Here’s hoping you’ve received all your videogaming desires. Another year has past and once again it’s time to reminisce over the best releases of the last twelve months in our Twelve Games of Christmas series. For those unfamiliar with Electronic Theatre’s traditional Yule-tide series, the The Twelve Games of Christmas consists of twelve articles, one for each of the twelve days of Christmas, in which instead of musing over Lords-a-Leaping or Pipers Piping we contemplate the best retail releases of the past twelve months, month by month.

i will state my opinion as facts lol

after rebuying a xbox360 about a month ago i decided to pick up ME1 and 2 at the same time. Played the first loved it played the 2nd liked it but i mean bioware took so much out of the ME franchise for the sequel.

where were all the RPG elemets?
if weapons have limited ammo than why have the ammo laying around everywhere?
I just thought ME1 had a bigger plot than ME2 hands down.

I really hope we see more of a RPG ME3 in 2011 than a sequel to ME2.

also in ME2 when you are about halfway through every mission becomes doing a favor to your team like someone wants to help their sister others want to find someone who they lost or left behind long time ago.

i am fine with those mission but they were no moving the plot forward, also how about some good sex scenes not some PG crap come on

if Me3 has better RPG elemets and it go back to its orignal route i would but it day one otehrwise there will be better options for RPS in fall 2011

"where were all the RPG elemets?"

I personally loved the game but also would've appreciated if they kept the inventory system as it was in Mass Effect. Other than that, its just your choice to like or not like it of course.

"if weapons have limited ammo than why have the ammo laying around everywhere?"

Enemies use the same type of weapons, so they drop the same kind of thermal clips like everyone else in the whole universe.

"I just thought ME1 had a bigger plot than ME2 hands down."

Tracking down a rogue agent and uncovering the greatest secret of the universe vs trying to save humanity from Collectors threat. Depends on what you like at the end. Again, a personal opinion and I agree.

"also in ME2 when you are about halfway through every mission becomes doing a favor to your team like someone wants to help their sister others want to find someone who they lost or left behind long time ago."

You are doing those "favors" to make them trust you and cover your back at the end. Not because you're gonna get "thanks".

" also how about some good sex scenes not some PG crap come on "

Not even gonna say anything about this.

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave37d ago (Edited 37d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
