The true sequel to Team Ninja's Ninja Gaiden reinvention on Xbox will also be an Xbox 360 exclusive, Team Ninja's iconic game designer Tomonobu Itagaki said today in Tokyo. Itagaki took the stage at Microsoft's pre-Tokyo Game Show press briefing to make the announcement, confirming the release of Ninja Gaiden 2 on Microsoft's platform in 2008.
Mistwalker's Hironobu Sakaguchi of Final Fantasy fame and fan-fiction also took the stage at the engagement, giving Lost Odyssey a date of December 6 for Japan, but revealing other territories won't see the game until 2008--a delay from the originally stated winter 2007 release.
17 years later, it still stands out.
The game was indeed amazing. Great characters, gameplay and story!
But the dream sequences penned by Shigematsu were sublime.
I still remember many of these stories and I have integrated in the past in my D&D campaign many years ago.
Microsoft should have just kept pumping money into these guys. Same with a lot of the other studios... the blundered hard.
Lost Odysee deserved a franchise even though development wasn't smooth
It's not like it has had any competition since 2007. Would really like to own the short stories from it in book form.
The problem with most MS games on 360 was they didn’t make the games they paid for them and that makes you less money in the long run and isn’t something you can continue to do especially with declining sales of consoles. MS should have been starting and growing studios from the beginning but they went for paid games and it leaves them without the knowledge and culture of making games.
Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 debuted in 2009; ahead of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty's launch, it's time to look back at one of Tecmo Koei's best titles.
It’s quite hard to believe, but Lost Odyssey turns fifteen years old today. A curious product of the time, it has arguably only got better with age - and not just because of what it is, but also what it represents.
The short stories that Kaim collects/remembers are truly emotional. I remember one in particular made my eyes water.
If you've never played this, try to hunt down an original copy, or emulate it. This game was a gem.
I wish there was a remaster. This and Last Story. Sad these games were released on the...wrong platforms...
then I supposed they can call Ninja Gaiden 2 an Xbox 360 "exclusive".
guys always talk about ps3 delays now look another 360 delay/Lost Odyssey ...pushed to 08..anoter supposed AAA title for you guys next year because your gonna need it...
Ninja Gaiden 2 will not be only on the Xbox 360. I have talked with developers on the title and the game will be coming to the PlayStation 3 as well. Tomonobu Itagaki only confirmed that the game would be on the Xbox 360 in 08. He didnt say it would be exclusive.
NG2 exclusive for xbox - It's a sad new for me... I love NG Sigma... but no bother!!!! it's the only game i want from xbox360!!! the other ones i have them for the pc!!!! and the games that i really want like MGS4, GT5, RE5,Silent hill 5,UT3,GTA4,Pro evo 2008,Burnout paradise,FFXIII, the future God of War 3,Tekken6, Haze, Orange box, etc, they are all in the PS3!!!!!!!!!!!!!Ahahahahahahah ahah!!!!!
First NG game was not published by Microsoft, this one is published by Microsoft so there ends any kind of speculation about NGS2
