Massively: MapleStory Big Bang Interview

The game's accessibility doesn't mean that it has no depth. Multiple classes and tons of quests as well as a robust cash shop offer something for everyone. Throw in the fact that this recent patch updated the graphics and added a new dimension to the game, and you will understand why the servers and website were crushed after the update. Well, Massively decided to interview Crystin Cox from Nexon to help make sense of all the changes.

Makes sense. Even before they bought Activision they had more studios then sony and Nintendo if I'm not mistaken. I don't think it's anything to brag about considering this trillion dollar company just went a whole year and a half poor little ol me ING itself.

Shane Kim240d ago

One and half? They have basically had nothing except for Forza in the last decade.

Zeref239d ago

Don't you people get tired of being this disengenious all the time when it comes to Xbox?

Shane Kim239d ago

It is not. You can Google it and all you'll see is the same old Forza, Gears and Halo combo.

ThinkThink240d ago

The title of the video is misleading. This is for the xbox games publishing team. None of the dozen+ games they are referring to are first party internal studios. The interesting part was hearing that they often aquire the studios that this specific team works with.

Godmars290240d ago

And then there's examples like Perfect Dark. Reportedly in multiple levels of development hell. Or that Rare announced title which they had no idea what it was when announced.

Aside from Froza which seems to come out every other year, as a driving game is a simple enough concept to do so, the only games coming from MS with much issue are ones already in development from studios they buy. Before being bought.

Flawlessmic241d ago

I mean well yea they have well over a dozen studios......

In other news, water is also wet.

Sniperwithacause240d ago

Water isn't wet. Water is a liquid, it makes things wet.

purple101240d ago

It does, It doesn't make all things wet though

Any more people to expand
...

DigitallyAfflicted240d ago

Just wanted to point out that water is a gas condensed into a liquid

Godmars290240d ago

Which also has nothing to do with MS making games...

Zeref239d ago

This is just Xbox Publishing. This doesn't include their internal studios.

lelo2play241d ago

Only a dozen?
With the number of studios Microsoft have, it's likley there are way more then a dozen games in development.

Sniperwithacause240d ago

Well, they probably have multiple studios working on the same game. So more than 12 studios, but double dipping to help create a single game.
Just my guess on it.

ThinkThink240d ago (Edited 240d ago )

This is just the xbox publishing team. It's separate of all the xbox game studios and bethesda.

Godmars290240d ago

But likely only a few are able to make something to MS's limited mindset for what a game is.

Forget that after abandoning FPS, a genre heading towards burnout around that time, MS never really figured out what a good game is.

Yi-Long240d ago

This. A statement like ‘over a dozen games in development’ means very little/nothing when we don’t know what kind of games they are. If half of them are GaaS titles, that’s already an automatic pass for me. Maybe some are mobile games. Not interested. Maybe some are Online MP only. Not interested.

If we’re talking about SP AAA-games and cool original smaller budget ‘indie’ games, THEN I’m interested, but we’ll just have to wait and see what they’ll be coming out with.

Obscure_Observer240d ago (Edited 240d ago )

Keep them coming, team! Really excited about those amazing new games!

Hellblade II, Avowed, Towerborne and Fligh Simulator 2024 next year, are in line with Xbox´s goals to release 4 first party games per year! Not to mention S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2, Flintlock and other amazing AAA games from third party that will be available to us day one on Gamepass.

Xbox got 2024 covered and packed with great games!

jznrpg240d ago (Edited 240d ago )

I got big money that list is mostly looking crappy after release. Stalker is 6 mod timed exclusive as well.

Obscure_Observer240d ago

"I got big money that list is mostly looking crappy after release"

And I bet big money you won´t have a better list of first party games to play in 2024 so just make sure spare us all of your arrogant remarks.

240d ago
PhillyDonJawn240d ago

I thought Stalker was gonna be multiplat at release

obidanshinobi240d ago

lol
We'll be lucky if 2 of the games you've listed are actually released in 2024.

Elda240d ago (Edited 240d ago )

Stalker 2 is coming to other platforms. XB will have it exclusively for only 3 months.

1Victor240d ago (Edited 240d ago )

@ obscure:”Keep them coming, team! ”
Sorry but I’ll be the one to interrupt you there and scream THATS WHAT SHE SAID during your speech

Any ways good for them I hope they’re the quality and amazing stories the Xbox community deserves for the last 15+ years
