PSBlog:
'Long time no see! Since Gravity Crash Portable was launched we’ve kept our heads down while working on a bunch of stuff. During the summer we started working exclusively on Oddworld projects, and I’m here today to talk about the first title we announced: Oddworld Stranger’s Wrath.
You may have heard of this game before – it was originally released in March 2005, but we’re doing an HD remake for PSN. Recently there have been a whole raft of HD remakes coming to the PS3, and to be able to work on this project and take the definition of “HD Remake” to the next level has been a dream come true.'
17 years after its initial release, Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath has returned -- and has never been better than this.
If you missed the news, Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath is out now on the Switch via the Nintendo eShop. But there’s a physical edition that is now available for pre-order at Amazon.
As one of the last major releases for the original Xbox, Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath is also one of the most memorable games on the system, taking the series to new places with a cross between third-person platforming and first-person shooting. With its unique weapons system, open-ended mission design and fascinating story, it's a game that always felt special and still holds up today - and it's recently received an impressive Switch conversion.
Amazing what they can do with the ps3.
Is there anything the ps3 can't do?
@Ahmedz seriously not everyone wants that i prefer the texting its more reliable.
How can they do this and completely screw up the PC version on release, I hope they patch Strangers soon on PC, people are wanting refunds and steam isn't allowing refunds yet.
@ murderdolls
maybe because texting has no issues with voice quality. there are times where peoples voices will cut out. or the battery is dead and its charging. and not alot of prople have mics on ps3. except all the people on my friends list.
Sigh. *looks at PS3 game list* I have so many choices and sacrifices to make regarding the PS3 game line up. I seriously wish they spread ithe release dates a little thinner. In the first 3 months I have at least 12 games including PSN and Move games to choose from. It really is kind of overwhelming. @ jwk94 I think most of us really don't care that much about cross game chatting on the PS3 . It would be nice to have it as an option but everyone has to stop acting like it is some super advantage that makes your console superior. There are many things we would like them to improve on the PS3 that are more important e.g. a better web browser or firefox or google support
At the end of the day, it's ashame that Sony had to take this route due to costs. Not that I haven't brought any of the remakes, I've got the GOW 1.2, going for Splinter cell, M.K, ICO, Maybe tombraider although I can run these games thanks to my launch unit.
