This Thursday on the Playstation Network, Sony release High Stakes on the Vegas Strip: Poker Edition. This game will give players a chance to show off their skills in Texas Hold'em, Super Hold'em, Billabong, Tahoe and Shanghai against others on the Playstation 3 .
PlayStation Blog reports: "Hello poker fans! I hope everyone has had the chance to play our game, High Stakes on the Vegas Strip: Poker Edition. We are pleased to announce that we will soon provide a free video capability add-on which allows up to six players to see and hear each other with real-time simultaneous audio and video. I believe this has never been done on any console title before.
The game works with USB cameras, the EyeToy, and the PLAYSTATION Eye, which is my favorite. This feature is especially cool for poker, since you may get a read on your opponents through facial expressions, body language, or conversations. It's also just great fun to see the people you are playing against."
I can't be the first to think about this but...
...what's to stop people from playing strip poker? There are weirdos out there. There's gonna be random flashing all over the place. Somone please inform me what they plan on doing to combat this.

High Stakes Poker for the PS3 recently put out a PSP remote play patch, which allows you to take this title on the road.
Playing High Stakes Poker online via Remote Play on the PSP is very cool. Makes me happy.
After spending a good part of an hour downloading the 300+ MB title, Loot Ninja finally got to gaming with High Stakes on the Vegas Strip: Poker Edition for the PS3. For $10, they say this game is a steal.
When you first start play, you are prompted to create a character. The game has slots for 4 created characters, each of which will retain their own bankroll and statistics. Initially there aren't a lot of customizations for your character, as you have to unlock these with further play. You'll get new shirts, pants, shoes, glasses, and other paraphernalia.

I bought it and the servers were not up yet to play online.
What the hell Sony?
I hear they are now though.
I will say I was addicted to it even with the single player mode.
I couldn't put the controller down. Of course I love Texas hold'em.
This sounds interesting and looks good with a great value price. I think its something I going to pick up. Is it single player only (no split screen)?
I won't be getting it right away as I've been busy trashing the bad guys in HS.
Thanks for the review!
An hour to download 300mb?!? is he using Dialup?
This sounds like a good laugh but when will it become available in the UK?

Yep. It's addictive. Played some Texas now and then on the net. Some tables I've seen had over $1,500 in one pot. Ridiculous
