Hands Up For Games4883d ago

There is no contest!

Ive played Enslaved on my 360 and its a good game but when UC3 drops, it is going to kick all other games into touch in the graphics department. You can pretty much put this down as FACT!

2011 is going to be sweeeeet!

man most games this gen still haven't even top uncharted 1 yet in the graphics and animation department.

FACTUAL evidence4883d ago

The power of the cell is amazing....they should have done Uncharted 1 versus Alan wake...that's a little more fair.

Masterchef20074883d ago

Isnt Alan Wake in standard def then upscaled to 720P? I think people should compare it to reach since fans say that is the best looking game on the system

iPad4883d ago

Uncharted 3 is gonna every game look like NES

frostypants4883d ago (Edited 4883d ago )

What was the point of this article? It's answering a question that, as far as I know, nobody was asking. Yeah, the Uncharted games look better than just about anything this gen. Did anyone ever try to claim that Enslaved was as good? Hell, did anyone even PLAY Enslaved?!

Author also needs to look up the definition of "infamy".

gypsygib4883d ago

I played Enslaved, it's a great rental for anyone wanting an interesting story, solid graphics and simple but still fun gameplay.

It would be a waist of money to buy though, it's short with no replay and the gameplay isn't good enough to play the game on that alone.

Masterchef20074883d ago

I played the demo. Frame rate was horrible but the screen tearing was horrendous. It was a demo but the retail versions seems to have the same problems. Just face it Ninja Theory have no idea on how to code for the PS3. Just the fact that they refused to include 7.1 sound on the PS3 version is nothing short of embarassing.

Lol i completely forgot about Enslaved its hard to believe it came out this year, bit of a flop that game turned out to be.

3 years old and uncharted 1 still looks amazing!

Vherostar4883d ago

Agreed a modern day game using Unreals latest engine couldn't match it but that's part of the sacrifice you make making it multi platform you hurt graphics same goes for most 360 exclusives (I said most) as not one 360 exclusive so far has come close to games like Uncharted in terms of graphics.

Shanks4883d ago

This is unbelievable, a 2007 game destroying a 2010 game.

donkeydoo4883d ago

Thats exactly what I was thinking.

DigitalAnalog4883d ago

It's 2007 engine beating a 2005 engine.

-End of Line

cemelc4883d ago (Edited 4883d ago )

A really heavily updated 2005 engine, be real.

uncharted is a 2007 engine, against an engine that is used today(unreal), cos is updated to no end.

This gets you thinking how ahead of epic the ND engine really is by 2007.

peeps4883d ago

@DigitalAnalog

Unreal engine 3 has had major improvements over the years... it's not the same engine as when it first released.

DigitalAnalog4883d ago (Edited 4883d ago )

I've heard EPIC mentioned the state of UE3 now could literally be called UE9 due to the amount of upgrades. However... I didn't want to go there.

But let's face it, even with the most updated UE3 engine available for Enslaved, it's basically run around by Uncharted ONE. Pathetic, since HS designed the engine powering up Heavenly Sword is more comparable.

-End of Line

Kain814883d ago

Heavenly Sword powered by UNREAL ENGINE 3?
I think you are wrong...HS uses a inhouse engine from sony.

DigitalAnalog4883d ago (Edited 4883d ago )

I didn't say the HS was powered by UE3. Maybe you missed the words "designed the engine" therefore making your statement moot.

its crazy enough this article comparing two different game, released in different timeframe, and compared with different console. and what makes it crazy, it compare another two different game in middle (in performance part)

Gran Turismo 5 Frame Analysis Forza 3 Frame Analysis

article with copy paste typos not worth reading. anyone approving this article did not read it thoroughly!

Next lets compare banana and vagina!

Soul Train4883d ago

A banana and a vagina would not be a fair comparison!

Rage_S904883d ago

vagina is teh superiorz.....

Masterchef20074883d ago

Why not stick a banana in the vagina then you can have the best of both worlds. lol

Sevir044883d ago

I wouldn't eat a banana after it was stuck into a vagina! thats not how i like my potassium

fan_of_gaming17d ago

The head of Nightdive Studios has posted that The Darkness is on their list of games they want to do, so hopefully something comes from that

Little Big Planet 1 and 2 deserve a mention, IMO.

Good call on Motorstorm, a game released 2 gens ago but still looks and feels so good. Motorstorm 2 and Motorstorm RC were gems as well. They followed up the Motorstorm games with the brilliant Driveclub, which still manages to put modern racing games to shame. Imagine closing down a studio as talented as that ... (!) Incredible.

A little 'arcade-gem' back then was The Last Guy, a top down 'follow the leader' snake-like game where you had to find and lead survivors to safety during an alien invasion, on terrible looking 'Google-earth' maps. Graphics were poor, even back then, but would love that same gameplay with modern maps and graphics.

Street Fighter 4, once it finally had a full roster, was quite good, but it was always an ugly game, sadly. Imagine bringing that back while using the current SF6 engine.

Good suggestions, I'd be in for
LittleBigPlanet
LittleBigPlanet 2
Motorstorm: Pacific Rift
Motorstorm: RC

purple10117d ago

God damn I love motorstorm so much

At the time I had a low-mid range sony 40” tv, The latency to the controller was waaaay too high, would to play a modern version

In saying that later I got a 3d lg tv and playing the 3d motorstorm in my bedroom with the environment crumbling around the track, was something special, specially compared to what others were playing at the time, will always remember that

Skuletor17d ago

Some good choices here and Resistance: Fall of Man is my most wanted PS3 remaster/remake. Not sure about their claim it was Sony's answer to Gears of War though.

CrimsonWing6917d ago

I’d rather have sequels than remakes. Look at Dead Space 1 Remake. Would’ve been cooler if we got a new entry and it failed with sales sealing the fate of a sequel rather than just replay the same game and it fail in sales and we never get a new entry.

Remakes are great for things like PS2 and earlier games to really get a crazy new graphical coat, but I think we should ease up on all these remakes and actually do sequels.

fan_of_gaming17d ago

Yeah for sure, sequels would be ideal. But in the current market environment where many big publishers are risk-averse, I'd rather get a remaster or remake that a developer can do on a budget that will be approved, rather than nothing for an IP.

Inverno17d ago

I rather they remaster and port over to PC and current gen all the games permanently stuck on PS360. Those games don't need remakes, they need to be given a chance to live again outside of their confined consoles and then give a few proper sequels. Like Sleeping Dogs, Motor Storm, LA Noir, should get another entry.

fan_of_gaming17d ago

Yeah I'd be fine with remasters of PS3 games too, they don't have to be remakes.

The Inconsistent Harmony: 5 Examples of Ludonarrative Dissonance in Video Games

VGChartz's Issa Maki: "I finally have a proper designation akin to what I've always referred to internally as 'the line that must be crossed' or 'The Line', for short – ludonarrative dissonance – the separation from a video game's story in relation to its gameplay. Why isn't PETA all up in Mario's grill for jumping on turtles and killing fish, or charging Samus Aran with the extinction of the Metroid species? Ever notice how fire has that habit of making bosses in Resident Evil stronger? Read on my friend, for I endeavor to imbue you with the ability to engage in basic queries concerning the concept."
