Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition Coming To US Arcades

Xugo Gaming's Andrew Glasscock: "Fresh from Japan, Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition is seeing release in lucky few arcades across the United States. Being the intrepid right-place, right-time kind of person that I am, I happen to live within a short drive away from Game Galaxy, one of the arcades receiving a full two-player setup just outside of Nashville, TN!"

That's exactly what I was thinking. Unless you call that small room in the movie theater an arcade, I don't think I've seen one in years.

Then if you can find an arcade,,,,,,,Why go there to play it? You can get SSF4 online (amazon, ebay) for less than 30$.

There will be more competitors on PSN or XBL than at any arcade in the US......combined

You obviously don't understand the appeal of arcades.

Rainstorm814920d ago

Actually i used to go to arcades a bunch until they died in the US......and home consoles killed them

Baka-akaB4919d ago (Edited 4919d ago )

Sure but there is still a community going to arcades . Hell evo wouldnt be what it is if arcade truly had died

Most people into fighting games i know either gather at each others home , at internet coffee or at arcades , rather than the boredom of of online lobbies .

Especially when only a few of them have decent lobbies .
voice chatting has yet to behave perfectly as well , on any platform

It's not going to die till everyone on consoles got direct videochat feeds on a smaller screen , while playing on the big one ... or at worst a small portion of a big flat screen being dedicated to live video .

Lol I was just about to post that George

A movie theater I go to has an arcade with a couple new arcade games in it (like the Raw Thrills' Terminator Salvation game), so yes. They're still kind of around...

I have needed this is my life since the original Mortal Kombat

nitus102896d ago

Actually, the article is pretty good (IMHO) although I personally have never really liked pure fighting games. I do however like the Souls and Bloodborne series and am quite reasonable playing them although I could "git bttr". 😉

JakeNoseIt2897d ago

I swear by Injustice being the most accessible fighting game out there. Play Injustice!

JackGash2897d ago

Injustice is a very accessible fighting game, It takes the mechanics of MK9 and expands on them in interesting ways. I would say Injustice and Mortal Kombat are among the more accessible.

10 Legendary Video Game Myths That Fooled Us All

Maybe these myths are a way of injecting some mystery and fascination into games that we’ve become so familiar with. Perhaps we’re desperate to recapture how we once felt when first playing through them; deluding ourselves into believing that there’s more to experience – even though deep down we know we’ve seen it all.

Alternatively, there’s the reality that growing up, we were just a lot more susceptible to rumours and hoaxes than we are now. Yeah, that’s probably it – there’s no way these things would fly today. Everyone knows the alien in GTA V’s forest is real anyway.
