Would be glad if it were true and I think it could be. The demo from the first game sold me on the whole package (even thou mostm people say that the demo doesn't do the game justice).

Croash4913d ago (Edited 4913d ago )

Ah yes, I'll go with the "demo didn't do justice" feeling.

I liked playing it but it gave the impression that the game was a frenetic shooter as its sole purpose was to show off the "Tactical Dismembering" aspect of the game.
Of course you'd check the graphics, see the ambiance, the way the gameplay works, but it was short lived and wasn't the best moment of the game to use as a demo.

They should have used Chapter 2's Medical Deck.

I just hope that Dead Space 2's demo will really show what this sequel has to offer that wasn't in the first game, like at least 2 different parts of the game, one with Anti Grav and the other one in the church to try out the javelin?

And I agree with xYLeinen, they must make a SP demo.

Spydiggity4913d ago (Edited 4913d ago )

i played the first one and it was an un-scary, boring, unoriginal game. the monsters are slow, repetitive, and insultingly easy to deal with. it's one of the worst "survival horror" games i've ever played.

and the multiplayer in the second game is god awful. i got into the beta, played it for an hour, then immediately went back to left 4 dead which is, in every way, a better game.

here's the most honest, accurate, hilarious review of the game i've seen.

Croash4913d ago (Edited 4913d ago )

Well the game's ambiance was made to make you feel uneasy, to make you feel weak as you'd never know where the monsters would come from and when they would actually show up.

The monsters weren't always slow as they could run towards you and come from any angle.

Repetitive? The game sure wasn't. It made us explore different places of the ship and had different type of missions to offer. Now I can understand that shooting the asteroids was something boring, but the part outside of the Ishimura without oxygen was brilliantly made, and so was the Leviathan boss fight.

And you're saying that monsters were insultingly easy to deal with? Really? REALLY?!
Play the game in Impossible, not in Easy, which will make you stop wasting ammo and shoot accurately at those freaking monsters who will not die in a single blast.
Oh and only with the Plasma Cutter of course, because you're going to need a lot of Health packs and even more Plasma Ammo.
And I guess dying in 3 hits is something that doesn't make the game easier, suddenly 8 monsters in a single room won't be insultingly easy to deal with.

This game came out of nowhere and showed everyone that Survival Horror had still a lot to offer, it isn't like Silent Hill, it isn't like Fatal Frame, it isn't like Resident Evil, it isn't like Forbidden Siren, it is like Dead Space.

visualb4913d ago

eh? what on earth does dead space have to do with left 4 dead?

FPS zombie arcade vs 3rd Sci-fi horror....

spydiggity, you are a *****

Im not even going to bother try to explain why your justification for the dislike of dead space is complete *********

instead I'll write this:

you missed the point.

and above all, if you take yahtzee's reviews as honest and accurate, well then you don't know how to take yahtzee's reviews since he always exaggerates

I love them too, but I watch them for entertainment and just because he judges a game harshly it doesn't mean it automatically becomes the truth =|

deafwing4913d ago

it would be nice christmas present I think

poopface14913d ago

I played it on the hardest mode and my strategies made it easier, but it was much more challenging.

I loved the need to conserve your ammo and having to do each area perfectly of else your dead.

pork_chop_express4913d ago

The first deadspace was one of the games of this generation.

xYLeinen4913d ago

As long it's a SP demo. Even if Dead Space 2 comes with MP it will be all about the SP on my part. They could simply give us their E3 presentation as a demo imo.

DarkBlood4913d ago

lol man the ending on the demo of dead space scared the shit out of me :P

Substance1014913d ago

Lol still havent played dead space, its been in my que for a while now. Probably gonna play this title soon.

Spydiggity4913d ago

do yourself a favor and play something else, it's pure crap.

Substance1014913d ago

The deal was just too good to pass up on. 9usd on the last steam discount. Cant go wrong at that price.

Spydiggity4913d ago

you were swindled, my friend. you should have just spent 7.50 and got orange box.

reynod4913d ago (Edited 4913d ago )

While Orange box for 7.5usd is a great deal. Dead Space at 9usd is awesome as well.

saladthieves4913d ago

That's a pretty darn good deal! Dead Space in my opinion is one of my favorite games...the SP demo sold me off...I had to buy it. It's just an awesome game IMO. I can't wait to see what the 2nd one brings.

visualb4913d ago (Edited 4913d ago )

spydiggity did deadspace devs come into your house and do something horrible to your family?

you seem to hate deadspace more than you hate yourself =O

ignore the only dead space troll (why would you ever troll deadspace is beyond me =P )

check the game out. its great fun and its got an awesome vibe

it isn't scary, but then again, no gave has been scary since Silent Hill 2 so, just get it for the game design its solid and entertaining and its different to all the other sci-fi shooters out there =)

Spydiggity4913d ago (Edited 4913d ago )

i'm not allowed to just dislike a game that sucks? my opinion is different than the mouth breathers that probably just got done playing call of duty while watching twilight and harry potter, so i'm a troll?

sorry man, not EVERYONE has a dumbed down impression of what is fun and original. i know most do, but that's not me. dead space isn't fun, isn't interesting, and isn't unique and it most certainly does NOT have an "awesome vibe" (it has a vibe i've seen about a dozen times before in games (and movies) that have done it WAY BETTER). and i already said that so i shouldn't have to justify my view. and just cuz i don't like some piece of crap that you do doesn't mean i didn't play it. gamers really struggle with that concept...it shouldn't have to be said, but apparently it does.

and in response to your previous comment. just because yahtzee is funny and entertaining does not mean his reviews lose credibility. just because he doesn't use a moronic number system doesn't mean he loses credibility. he might use a lot of metaphors to emphasize his perspective, but his reviews are still honest opinions...unlike most reviews which are based more on who the sponsors are. everything he said about deadspace was perfectly accurate and reflects almost exactly how i feel about that braindead game.

DarkBlood4913d ago

coming from a huge fan of resident evil series for a long time even this is even more scary then resident evil 5 in the fear department i actually didnt want to progress down the hall when the lights were off in dead space, i just cant remember the particular part though

saladthieves4913d ago

The part where the dark splicers(which are tougher to take down) are running at you like crazy dudes and your health bar is really low and you're breathing heavily while you try to shoot your plasma cutter only to discover that there is a clicking sound....NO AMO.

im-12-years-old4913d ago

Anything is more scary than resident evil 5

Dylantalon14913d ago

it would be silly if this game doesn't have move support. it would be silly also if mass effect 2 doesn't support the move.

AwesomeJizz4913d ago

It would be silly if you keep talking

Spydiggity4913d ago (Edited 4913d ago )

alright, i'll admit it (saying something i've never said on n4g cuz everyone here is a fanboy retard)... your comment is hilarious.

bubble+ ...first one of those i've given out in about a year.

Quagmire4913d ago

Umm...what?

Dead Space worked fine with DualShock3, so will DS2, DS Extraction will have move and DualShock3 integration, and why the hell bring Mass Effect 2 into this?

pork_chop_express4913d ago

Dylan is spot on, you guys will soon realise move offers alot to games like deadspace.

tigertron4913d ago

I'm hoping for a demo because I want to play DS2 asap! It would certainly make my Christmas. ^_^

EA Shoots Down Dead Space 2 Remake Rumors: 'No Validity to This Story'

EA has shut down rumors that EA Motive considered a Dead Space 2 remake before shelving it due to low sales of the previous game, saying there's "no validity" to the reports.

XiNatsuDragnel36d ago

Sure.... right.... at least remake dead space 3 w/o microtransactions bs.

XiNatsuDragnel35d ago

I sometimes I wished I didn't Ngl lol

Knightofelemia36d ago

Why not remake DS2 whether shot down or not it's still my favorite game next to DS1. As much as I hate EA I would buy or would have bought DS2 day one.

MeteorPanda36d ago

No validity XD "Guys guys, we cant possible make a good game or cater to the gamers wants, stop"

Yi-Long36d ago

I don't know if sales met their expectations or not. I just know that the high review scores received my attention so I was interested in buying it, but its price stayed high (50+ bucks) for so long that I simply never bothered picking it up.

Tacoboto36d ago

Doesn't pay full price
Doesn't pay *any* price
Ponders if sales met expectations regarding an allegedly canceled sequel.

Gee...

Yi-Long35d ago

Well, for starters, I'm sure there are plenty of games I never bought which did, somehow, still, meet their sales-expectations.

Concerning Dead Space; I never played and thus cared for the original. It's in multiple genres (shooter, sci-fi, horror) I don't particularly care about so it was barely on my radar pre-launch. I was never its target-audience.

When reviews hit, and it was scoring big, it gathered my interest, so while it wasn't in my field of interest, it mrans that I wanted to give it a fair shot and at least give it a try, as I do with many games across different genres; I tend to just cherry-pick the good stuff and see if it's for me or not.

But, I do wait for sales on those games I take a risk on.

Kornholic35d ago (Edited 35d ago )

Lol, you are a huge part of the problem. If a very high-quality game is not even worth 50 bucks to you, then what is?

13 Years Later, Dead Space 2 Is Still A Perfect Video Game

Nameer from eXputer: "Dead Space 2 is a sequel that delivers such a feast that by the time you're done, you're not only full but also satisfied."

Aaroncls756d ago

It was amazing. All 3 DS games game solid for me, but 2 was special.

hombreacabado56d ago

i can do without ds3 but the first two are solid.

mariopasta56d ago

Hope they remake this one too. Just like they did with number 1. The remake of Dead Space 1 was perfection

Terry_B56d ago

thanks to the digital pass for it it was not perfect..in fact its difficult to find a working copy since many years.

I had no idea that Bad Company 2 was still running, and only now that I know, I want to jump on! 😥

SonyStyled158d ago

I was able to find games in the Vietnam dlc on ps3 the last week. There were articles on here about the server closure when it was announced in April

DaReapa159d ago

BF1943 is the only online MP game that I was genuinely interested in. Been playing since launch 14 years ago. Hate that I couldn't put in as much time to play as I'd hoped for during the final week.

Inverno158d ago

I got really into 43 when I bought Bf3, and preferred it. Everything that I disliked or found annoying about Bf3, wasn't an issue in 43. Too bad they never bothered releasing it on PS4 or PC.

1nsomniac158d ago (Edited 158d ago )

Dead Space 2...... I wasn't even aware that had multiplayer. Nevermind that it was apparently one of their best multiplayers!

anast158d ago

Once people stop buying micros, these companies close the doors.

Xenial158d ago

Dead Space 2 multiplayer had been hanging on for years - I'd boot my PS3 up to see some familiar names in lobbies. This will definitely be missed!
