Valkyria Chronicles II Is Better, Even if It's on the PSP

With just a couple of months until Valkyria Chronicles III's Japanese launch, the whining from people has started again that the sequel is on the PSP and not the PS3, regardless of the fact that Valkyria Chronicles II was long proven to be every bit the equal of its predecessor, and in many ways even better.

Destructoid's review of the game likely wasn’t enough to convince some of those crazy people, so they’ve compiled a list of reasons why the PSP sequel is better, which they will use to casually dismiss some of those complaints.

I disagree.

Valkyria Chronicles 2 wins in:
-soldier development/customization
-non-linearity (lots of side missions)
-Bonus content after the ending

The first one wins in:
-Scale (one big battle field way better than teleporting across 5 small ones)
-Originality
-Story (including the way the story is told)
-Characters
-Music/sound/voice acting
-Visuals
-Mid-battle saving

They basically tie in most other categories, to me.

What should also be noted is that the categories in which I see the PSP game as having an edge...could also be done in a PS3 game. But the PS3's massive battlefields, surround sound support and high-def visuals CAN'T be done on a PSP.

I enjoyed VC2, but liked the first one more. We can make lists and counter lists all day, but in the end, people like what they like and that's that. And to *me*, the original is the superior game.

I lived VC and would really like to play the sequels. But buying a psp for two games and get shit visuals and sound? Perhaps in a paralell universe.

I know whatcha mean. i bought a psp just for KHbbs. It's really fun and i've been trying to buy other games to justify the purchase. MGSPW is fun so far. And I should get VC2 just because I loved the first one. But honestly I thought the psp would be a console for smaller games but KHBBS, MGSPW and VC2 are all FULL BLOWN GAMES. And the fact that I'm mainly a ps3 gamer hinders me from completing some games. Right now I'm trying to finish Demon's Souls, The Fight, MGSPW and now Dead Nation. I know I won't do it before new years, but by then other stuff will be coming out :(. Guess I'll just have to wait til the summer drought next year to finish up.
