SG Review: Jungle Party (PSP)

SG: It’s genuinely heartwarming to see, once in a while, a party game that isn’t on the Wii. It reminds me that somewhere out there there’s at least one publisher who looks at the Wii, decides that it’s not the platform they want to launch a game on, and take their business elsewhere.

Basing a handheld title on a peripheral based mini-game collection from the PS2 era must of seemed like a good idea to someone. What they failed to do though was add anything of any relevance to this collection.

The original Jungle Party was a Buzz! Junior title during the later stages of the PS2’s life. It was a reasonable collection of mini-games aimed at the younger audience. To this end Jungle Party for the PSP plans to supply the same to the younger PSP audience sans buzzers.

It seems fair to say that Jungle Party isn’t the best offering when you can get the game cheaper and with better function on the PS3. But if you’re looking for a game that will entertain the kids on a trip then this is a pretty good step.
