Last year when Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 released, it became apparent that Infinity Ward couldn’t keep up with the online component of the game. In lieu of an ongoing lawsuit, its community had overrun the once prestigious title. It wasn’t about having fun anymore, but about who could find the next exploit to run the madhouse known as Modern Warfare 2.
Microsoft's Activision subsidiary announced today that it is opening a new game development studio to take advantage of the huge talent pool growing in Poland. It'll be the second Activision studio based in the region, joining Infinity Ward Krakow, although this studio is, in fact, not working on Call of Duty.
The details for multiple future Call Of Duty games appear to have leaked, including a follow-up to Advanced Warfare.
Activision Blizzard ordered to pay $23.4M for patent infringement involving popular games.
I would read the article but the giant pop-ups from the top and bottom of the screen made me close it.
Without reading $23.4 million isn't a deterrent for a company that size.
Boss: Let's fire a few people to recoup on that loss.
Slave: Cortana has decided to get rid of Arkane Austin and Tango Gameworks.
Boss: Let's get those Firing Letters "Copilot Approved" and send them through the power of the cloud.
Slave: Long Live Phil !!!
ALL in the room: LONG LIVE PHIL !!!!
Well another troll company with a patent trying to extort money out of companies. Seems like they’re going to try and sue everyone.
I agree that Black Ops is a breath of fresh air!
It was good before the patch and now its even better. Lets hope they keep it going!
"The Real Call Of Duty Players are coming out from hibernation" love that sentence.
I'm on my 17th prestige already. So i have a lot of experience. If the patch ruins kill streaks or its feel. I am going back to COD World at War
Nuketown encourages you to run and gun? Any player with half a brain will choose one of the floors of the houses in that game and try and keep some calm whilst all hell breaks loose outside. I believe Black Ops is an alright game, but it is another step in the casual direction to encourage more players to buy it (and other COD titles) The fact that they kept noobtubes in the game, and encourage the use of noobtubes with contracts whilst gimping quickscoping (which takes a higher level of skill than noobtubing does at least) and in the process ruining sniping.
Sniping gets me more hitmarkers than any COD game before, it forces me to camp at the back of the map and to fire multiple bullets, which of several miss since Treyarch thought it would be awesome to add in a feature where if you shoot for half a second after scoping in or shooting another bullet the bullet just goes -whizz!- off in a random direction. I do all this whilst some level 20 runs along, aiming roughly at my sniping position and fires a noobtube at me, in the process getting rewarded with XP and CR. Even without noobtubes, people using SMG's across the map can pick me off easier than with sniping.
Countless other additions such as gimping dropshotting, which was really only a trait players who played for a while used, forcing us to stand and shoot at our opponents, which in a 1v1 point blank situation is more about connections and luck than gun skill. On top of this, they seem to have made connections even worse than before. On a medium-low host the moment anyone joins the game just hits a random lag bump even post-patch.
Bleurgh.
