Gametrailers: The Fight: Lights Out Review

With this much bluster, you'd expect an experience that would at least occasionally reward the amount of sweat that The Fight: Lights Out quite literally requires you put into it.

You cant tell if you have a good blocking stance. Oh wait doesn't that mean I have to put my hands in front of my face. Oh and if your a tall guy fighting a midget your punches will go over their head if you throw them strait DUHH. Jesus this guy doesn't know how to fight at all, whats wrong with people?

Igneel4927d ago (Edited 4927d ago )

''Oh and if your a tall guy fighting a midget your punches will go over their head if you throw them strait DUHH''

The problem is that in Real life even if you're fighting a Shorter Guy You'd Still be able to Aim in their direction even if they're shorter then you. Here the problem is that You can'T do that.

tdogg060519914927d ago

When it hampers your review on a game yea it does.
Thats what you see people who exercise love it, people who don't hate it.

Igneel4927d ago

The same could be said about Kinect games @ Tdogg. People who have fun Dancing would love a Game like Dance Central but people who dont find any interest in it probably wont. Same for the YoGa games and so on.

Mr_Bun4927d ago (Edited 4927d ago )

I have found this game to be insanely fun. I also find it to be dead on accurate. I don't know if these reviewers are shi††ing on the game because they're lazy but I have a completely different experience when I am playing.

The only flaw I have with the game is the transparency (or lack there of)....which is being patched soon (apparently)

Nothing more rewarding than watching your avatar match your motion for uppercuts and landing them on screen.

Lawliet4927d ago

Well when you watch GT review, when they hardly even explain the reason for their score, you know something fishy is going on.. But what can I say, I have yet brought this game. And I think Sony made one stupid mistake. Why don't they add a joystick on the bulb wand then separating into 2 different controller? For shooter maybe, but games such as this fighting, we want too can move our character!

Chubear4927d ago (Edited 4927d ago )

Yes Kinectimals caters to "a kiddy causal demographic" - 8.5

The Fight - does not cater to casuals or hardcore in any remote way - 3.5

...lmao. If you truly listen and let these gaming sites influence your gaming, there is no other way to put it - you're a blind dumb sheep and gaming PR groups love you.
.
.
'
let me clarify. Hey, if you think The Fight is a 3.5 then hey, that's what it is. You use a standard and rate it at that and that's fine... but what standard are you using to rate Kinectimals, not a 3.5 or a 4.5 or a 6 not even a 7 but an 8.frikgen5?

Yeah, the who-will-pay-us-the-best-Adver tising-space-dollars-for-my-ga m ing site standard I'm assuming. :/

better yet why is Eyepet (catering to the same "demographic" a 7 but Kinectimals an 8.5 (which is a very big difference in rating) It's not like they gave Eyepet 7 and KM a 7.2 or 7.9.. frikgen 8.5?.. and Heavenly Sword an 8 but Boom Blox 8.5? dont' give me that "different genres" BS. There are standards to games otherwise barbie's pony adventures would routinely get 9.5s out the wazoo.

Mr_Bun4927d ago (Edited 4927d ago )

To be fair, some PS3 sites have been raping this game of it's dignity as well. I don't think it is a money issue.

All I can guess is that people who can't throw a punch in real life seem to hate this game. Maybe the problem is that the camera is off to one side a bit which can throw your aim. I aim for my camera and I can hit my target in his left nut if I want.

The accuracy seems spot on for me. I'm glad other people have been vocal about enjoying this game because I wouldn't have picked it up otherwise.

Ju4926d ago

Ah ha ha ha. Look at the video. That game tracks your motion exactly and accurately. What you see is what you play. Right there.

That guy isn't boxing but petting a cat or something. WTH. Get your stance right and through a right bunch. Yeah, guess you have to try doing it right - almost like in real live, you know. That game is unforgiving. Shows it pretty clearly in that video. Man, he can't even hit that sparings guy correctly. Only trouble I have there is my left hand undercut. Just shows how I suck with that swing.

Tapewurm4926d ago (Edited 4926d ago )

I have had this game for a few days and I am sore all over lol. What people don't mention is that your fighter levels and gets stronger and more stamina and a larger move list as you train and fight your way up the ranks.... it's sort of like an RPG of the Fighter world. In my case...the lighting and head tracking work just fine and it says light and head tracking "good" when I set it up. The first fight as a noob was a brutal butt whoopin' on me...but after I went to gym and hit the speed bag and sparred a little I earned a few points to put into my strength, stamina and other abilities and went back a layed the smack down....as your fighter levels his way up the ranks, he controls better and his attacks are more effective.....one of the best and most interesting fighting games I have played.....this game is really fun. But you have to stay in one spot while playing....it works really well...surprised by all the crap reviews....this game deserves better.

i don't know if this game is good (new patch, someone ?)but i know Gametrailers is really biased toward ps3, and move, time crisis review was a joke, sport champion also.

shame on ms whores !

Balt 4927d ago

I'm about to make a video if I could get my bandmates in order to do it. And it'd be the proper way to calibrate The Fight -- Train in Fight -- Fight in fight -- And have massive amounts of fun tweaking your style and changing it up. We've taken Red Dead, Vanquish, Castlevania and laid them to the side for this game and it's been worth it the last few days. We laugh and just has fun with it. It works flawlessly in the room it set up at too.

DMason4927d ago

Im willing to give it a rent if they have it at Blockbuster, and if its decent, Ill pick it up. I cant keep playing Sports Champions over and over again, I need some new motion gaming.

im-12-years-old4927d ago

Reviewers playing follow the leader

DanteKnightsTemplar4927d ago

MMMmmm... .reminds me of how corrupt the VG awards are....mmmmm

IGOTEVERYSYSTEM4927d ago

American Consumers are spoiled and the reviewers are idiots !
They rate every Sony exclusive low no matter what. The fight is excellent if you know how to fight and do t mind sweating and being sore in the morning .lol it's great for burning calories and better than any kinect game period. Gt5 should get what ever score because they had way to many delays so they will take points off for anxiety ..lol

Fishy Fingers4927d ago

Actually got to play this yesterday, "fun" for about 10 minutes, anymore than that, I'd likely start punching myself in the face.

TooTall194927d ago

I think the game is a lot of fun. I play for a few hours a day.

Console Domination: The Fight: Lights Out Review

Console Domination writes: I'm sure that it's an abiding dream amongst many that some day, some how and some where, there will be a motion control combat game that's worth playing. Whether using swords or fists the hope that there will be a Motion Control game with 1:1 movement capture is one that persists. The Fight: Lights Out for Playstation Move is one of the latest attempts at capturing that dream. Unfortunately, it fails. Quite badly as well I might add.

Come now, surely we could have used the Fight: Lights Out demo back when the Move first launched. Unless of course Sony wasn't confident enough with the game for a demo. Hm...

ftwrthtx4782d ago

Maybe they are hoping for a quick pick-me-up on sales of the title.

Liefx4782d ago

That game is amazing. Great workout because unlike the Wii you actually gotta move around.

NJShadow4782d ago

I have heard of folks that play it on a nightly basis for a workout. It's supposed to be quite good in that respect.

dragon824782d ago

Looks like a pretty weak lineup this week.

ftwrthtx4782d ago

The free Killzone 3 map pack for PlayStation Plus subscribers doesn't look weak, but the rest does

ftwrthtx4782d ago

Free is my favorite price range :-)

dragon824782d ago

I agree the free map pack is nice but that will probably be the only thing I download which makes this a pretty weak update.

ALFAxD_CENTAURO4782d ago

K3 Maps and Dungeon Hunter: Alliance
Pretty much makes an awesome content update in the store.

dragon824782d ago

Only if you are interested in Dungeon Hunter: Alliance. I am also pretty much over Killzone 3 at this point so I probably wont even play the maps much.

Taggart4514782d ago

I've been waiting for Might & Magic since....like early last year. AWESOME!

Sev4782d ago

I'm a huge fan of Capybara Games. It'll be great.

decimalator4782d ago

Yeah, me too. I might have to pick it up

The Fight:Lights Out - Fitness Pack DLC (video)

video of The Fight:Lights Out - Fitness Pack DLC gameplay

whateva4829d ago (Edited 4829d ago )

this game gives you a really good workout

zootang4828d ago

You know what someone needs to do. A before and after.

Before being a picture of when they got the game and an after when they have got the Platinum trophy.

HungryGoku4828d ago (Edited 4828d ago )

The troll that gave you a disagree hasn't played it. This game is very good workout you will be in a lot of pain the first day.

Quagmire4828d ago

I'm thinking about getting this game, however it requires me to buy an extra move. I want the Move to make me do excercise, however I am torn between this and Sports Champions. which is the best, or are there any other Move games which enforce physicality?

Balt 4829d ago (Edited 4829d ago )

I love it. I flooded the developers e-mail almost daily back in December, complaining and pissing and moaning about certain things they needed to work on.

They gave me absolutely everything I asked for yesterday. Save for the Jump rope, which they said they are working on too.

I haven't had but 40 min total with the new content, but I'm already climbing the leader-boards in stats. I'll be ranked number 1 by tomorrow or Friday in the rubber dummy and the C. training. I should be 3 right about now on the rubber dummy because I just got through with a 15min session about an hour or two ago and had to end earlier than I wanted to to tend to my little girl.

Love this game. Buy it. It works.

Parapraxis4828d ago (Edited 4828d ago )

I will be buying it, the fitness aspects really appeal to me.

Great post BTW.

I, unlike many reviewers, am interested in building up my character with WORK and making him the best.
The new DLC just adds to my desire to pick this title up.
if I hadn't just spent 110+$ on Dead Space 2 and KZ3 I'd have grabbed this by now.

I guess I can play a bit of Sports Active 2 for now, but this game (as a huge MMA fan) would probably suit me much better.

specialguest4828d ago

Definitely looking into this.

cochise3134828d ago

I think I'm going to get this game; I have a second move controller coming, so this game will be bought soon.

FunAndGun4828d ago

I haven't even checked the store update from Tuesday yet because of Killzone 3.

Will definitely be buying this though, The Fight is a great workout.

jaseo4828d ago

I always did 1 or 2 heavy bag sessions for fitness. This new DLC will add some variety..

there is some leg movement too!
