Molyneux: "If I made something like ICO, I'd be very happy to die."

Peter Molyneux loved ICO. So much so, in fact, that he were to make something like it, he’d feel his time on this fair planet was done.

Try to make a game like ICO then.

Anything's better than the stale-ass Fable games.

ThanatosDMC4915d ago

Also, good thing he didnt make Ico. It wouldnt have been memorable or close to being the way Ico was.

Perjoss4915d ago

here is a simple fact for all the Peter haters:

he has made better games than any of you have.

that is all, thank you.

scott1824915d ago (Edited 4915d ago )

I like the PS3, but I also like games on the 360. I think Peter Molyneux is a very creative person and has great ideas, black and white is still one of my favorite games. People let their brand loyalty get in the way of their logic...

user8586214915d ago

were not developers, were gamers..... dumbass -_-

MazzingerZ4915d ago

Molyneux is always very honest and humble, why people dislike him so hard? I love PS but have to admit that I haven't read a single declaration from SONY devs about liking Halo or some other MSFT franchise (not many I know)

Molyneux do this very often, he's a game designer before a MSFT employee unilke many people that defend their consoles to death.

ShadowJetX4915d ago

People hate on him so much, is because of all the untrue hype he spreads about his games. He as hailed all 3 fable games as the best rpgs ever, and while they are quite good, they can hardly ever be considered "best rpg ever."

At least he realizes he acts like an asshat sometimes (he acts like an asshat sometimes is what I mean), unlike some other people we know.

WTF was that? LOL
you can't delete comments anymore? I tried but couldn't find a way

anyway, I guess I made my point clear :P

iamgoatman4915d ago

Was that a quadruple post? Or possibly even quintuple? That's more of an achievement than a fail!

Thankfully, the fable series is being put to rest for a while. Fable 1 and Fable 2 were both truly enjoyable games but Fable 3 was just an utter disappointment despite the game's excellent writing throughout.
Hopefully, Molyneux moves on to bigger and better things and supports the PC as much as the Xbox brand.

va_bank4916d ago

...Make something as good as ICO and then die, who's stopping ya?

Quagmire4916d ago (Edited 4916d ago )

Just skip the first step imo.

Tasteless, I now, I keed.

va_bank4916d ago (Edited 4916d ago )

Yeah, but then what do WE get out of it?

ikkokucrisis4916d ago

A fresh can of "I told you so."

DORMIN4916d ago (Edited 4916d ago )

Yeaaa not do be a dick, but something as influential and inspirational like Ico only comes once in a lifetime.

I also imagine it's a hard thing to achieve. it's not like Ueda says to himself one day "I feel like making one of the most endearing games ever." lol

bananlol4915d ago

The first part of your comment doesnt make sense, how do you explain sotc? Shure ico was great but sotc was a improvement in every way. Thats the reason so maney people are waiting for tlg, as opposed to maney other developers uedas games actually get better each time.

ELite_Ghost4916d ago

white men can't make ICO like games ;)

Motorola4916d ago

Cant wait to plsy Ico on my PS3!!

hot4play4915d ago (Edited 4915d ago )

Me too.

ICO and Shadow of the Colossus are two of the best games of all time.
Very unique, creative, and atmospheric.

After The Last Guardian on PS3 releases, I'd like the creator (Fumito Ueda) to create an open world RPG! That would be so epic!

hot4play4915d ago

^lol
whats up with the disagrees? dont like the game?
Or probably some jealous PC and Xbox fanboys... :p

15 Amazing PS2 Games That No One Remembers

They may not be as remembered by the vast majority as other classics, but these PlayStation 2 titles are still significant.

A good number of these games are pretty well-known in the gaming community. I don't know who this 'no one' is, but they might not have been a gamer during the time of the PS2. ICO? The Warriors? BULLY?!? C'mon now.

FullmetalRoyale296d ago

Certainly not as interesting as a spoon controversy, right?

296d ago
Terry_B298d ago

Not one of these is pretty "forgotten". But what you can forget are bad lists that need 15 clicks.

Terry_B296d ago

edit..why the fuck was this shit approved by 2 guys after all?

luckytrouble296d ago

Because the approval system is fundamentally flawed. The amount shouldn't decrease for approval over time, nobody should be able to have more than one vote, and pending content should be more visible so those measures don't feel necessary to push through less immediately popular pieces.

The number of ways this system can be intentionally or accidentally abused so crap like this can get through has been ridiculous for ages now.

Petebloodyonion298d ago

The title is misleading, it should be 15 best ps2 that you always ignored (hence the title of the video).
These games are not unknow but often left out when talking PS2 great game.
The warrior is a great game but let's be frank just mention it in a discussion amongs friends and half the crowd will go " OMG I forgot about that! "

Christopher296d ago

I think that's just a factor of time. Most movies from the 80s/90s that are great are like that with me as well. They're still great, just been so much between now and then that you can't keep it all at the forefront of your mind.

banger88297d ago

15 games on 15 pages? F*** that. I'll save you a click:

The Thing
Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution
Deus Ex: The Conspiracy
Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly
Twisted Metal Black
ICO
Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy
Transformers
Silent Hill 4: The Room
Red Dead Revolver
War of the Monsters
XIII
Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction
The Warriors
Bully

Good man, keep up the work homie

Leeroyw296d ago

Agreed. Some heroes put on their pants one leg at a time like the rest of us. Thank you.

MrNinosan296d ago

I remember and know all the game exceot War of the Monsters...
But maybe my name is "no one"

Phoenix76296d ago

Last time I checked (a year ago) War of the Monsters was available to buy as a ps2 classic on the ps store. Know I've still got my disc copy and fairly sure it's in my digital library

This video game journalist must not know any gamers, not be on any gaming sites, and is probably young only know of these games because of an older sibling.

None of those games are forgotten and most are spoken of fondly fairly often.

genDESIGN has released an early development video of ICO in celebration of its 20th anniversary on December 6.

Nyxus874d ago

Very special game! I still have the limited edition. The artstyle of Team ICO is very distinct. https://www.videogameshelf....

DarXyde874d ago

This was a fun look at Ico. So hard to believe it's been 20 years already. Where does time go?
