360's looks better to me. Better, more realistic lighting. Textures were about the same but it comes back down to the lighting and the ambient sources. The Ps3 is really struggling as of late in these comparisons and that worries me. 10 years, out of this hardware? Really? I don't know. The xbox 360 is still beating it in terms of visuals game after game. Sometimes you will have a Vanquish that preforms and looks better on the Ps3, and thank the heavens because that game is really amazing, but most of the times it's always in favor of the xbox 36o. Sadly.

BrianG4936d ago

It is sad to see, but the hardware for the system can do the 10 years they've planned. It is more future proof tech than the Xbox 360. It is already ready for the next revolution, 3D, and can handle some great looking games.

Sadly multiplatform developers have yet to grasp the system. And honestly there is no excuse for it. If first party Devs can make games that push the boundaries of what we have seen today why can't multi platform devs? They aren't trying hard enough, unlike the guys at Sega who did well on Vanquish.

ShinMaster4936d ago (Edited 4936d ago )

Wow, you're trying a little too hard.

Your "worry" about the PS3 was almost believable. Almost.

On topic: They're both VERY identical.
I don't like how the 360 version looks a little too dark at night.
But I guess that's no big deal.

Neckbear4936d ago

They look close enough for me, to be honest.

Just saying. Also, Multiplatform performance isn't that bad on the "inferior" ports, at least 99% of the time. People simply overreact.

Blacktric4936d ago

They look pretty identical to me. When I read sitlab and BrianG's comments, I thought there are huge differences, but only visible one (to me) is lightning difference on between both systems. PS3 version for me. And yes, graphical differences in games shouldn't be the main thing when choosing which platform to buy it for. PS3 version of Dragon Age Origins looks slightly better than Xbox 360 version, yet its performance cripples the gameplay and fun (Edge Of Reality's fault). Developers should start doing something about this.

Eu4936d ago (Edited 4936d ago )

@sitlab
Despite the BS you're spousing, your point is killed like this: Want to see whos get the best hardware? Compare it when they are their best, wich means EXCLUSIVES! Get all those fine and fun X360 exclusives and compare to PS3 ones...and you get a onslaugh never seen before in gaming market. Everything you said was already killed by previous games released on PS3 that far surpass anything on X360...

Multiplats are a show on how a dev can use a console's caracteristics, not its top capabilities, for they make the best options they can to attempt to get the games's versions as equals as they can, and that means some MAY or MAY NOT suffer with it. Since we are all tired from the FACT that both consoles architecrus are different, whatever difference you see in multiplats are OBVIOUSLY developer side of things, and not hardware...unless you're a fanboy.

@topic: both seens the same IMO. Gonna go with PC anyway, but they look equal to me.

KiRBY30004936d ago

you're not fooling anybody with your stealth trolling.

Balt 4936d ago

But not really. It's just how I see it. I don't own an xbox 360. I don't care to. I'm just not a blind loyalest who chooses to believe in falsity.

raztad4936d ago

What a load of crap sitlab. LOL

If you were presented with two movies, a DVD labeled XBOX360 and a BD labeled PS3 you would say the XBOX360 looked better.

OT: Considering NFS:HP is using a Deferred Rendering engine which has proven to perform tremendously well on PS3, I would be surprised if the xbox had the upper hand in this game. As expected it didnt. Altought the differences are very small, motion blur and lightning are slightly better on PS3. I'm kinda interested in DF analysis on this one. Criterion propietary engine looks really good. The cars are a bit jagged tho.

Balt 4936d ago

So you're saying I don't own a Ps3? And I don't buy a wealth of content for it? Strange. Sad how blind you people are. Check my PSN. You'll see just how many games I've got that do support trophies, let alone the ones that don't. I've got 23 minis - 21 Psone games - over 97 other PSN/Ps3 games. I've recently just got God of War 1 and 2 off the network too. To argue this is a waste of time.

The xbox 360 version looked better in the pics to me. Deal with it.

Redempteur4936d ago

@sitlab

quoting digital foundry :
"In scenes where the 360 lighting looks brighter, it's actually the game itself adjusting the exposure of the scene based in part on the same cloud-cover. "

"The shots suggest differences in world lighting, but there are none in actuality - cloud cover dynamically lights the scene and it's constantly shifting."

Same lighting ... neither is more realistic than the other..

NCAzrael4936d ago

I'd strongly urge you to go back and look again. While there are a few pics where the AA looks slightly better on the 360, the color pallet is much more defined on the PS3. At first I didn't care for the color of the road in the first few screens, but then I looked at the background and realized just how dull everything is on the 360. The colors on the PS3 seems to pop a lot more, and the lighting overall seems a bit better.

In the end this game is going to come down to framerates and your friends list. The differences in visuals are close enough that you won't even think about comparisons like this after it comes out. So long as they both perform well (haven't seen any reports of the 360 version slowing down in the demo, and out of the 50+ events I've logged on the demo I haven't seen any stuttering on my PS3). With the inclusion of Autolog, it really just matters which system you have more racing fan friends on.

Luckily I don't have to decide. Since my 360 conveniently E74'ed shortly after the extended warranty expired, I'm kind of limited on my options at the moment.

Why is it if a game was made on one console then kinda ported to the other (PS3 to 360 in this case), it looks a bit washed out. Is it really that hard for developers to change the contrast and brightness so they look the same?

insomnium24936d ago

The game is lame and so is this news. Nothing but consolewars...

What an informative comment! It really shows the quality of your comments when you have three bubbles.

BornToKill4936d ago (Edited 4936d ago )

ps3.

the 360 version looks washed out.

CREESH4936d ago

Looks better on 360.

Whats you excuses sony ???

Godmars2904936d ago (Edited 4936d ago )

Especially considering Burnout Paradise which was the exact same on either console.

And I'm not seeing a difference between them.

Nitrowolf24936d ago (Edited 4936d ago )

the hell are you talking about, clearly the PS3 version looks better but to me this is what i see for every other comparison except this time it's flip, rather PS3 version looking lighter it's the 360 version and the PS3 version in this case is less lighter not giving it that wash look, just look at the color of the car, PS3 car is black whereas 360 version it looks a bit gray same with other color, they are washed. And to me that isn't even an issue, when you play them it won't be hugely noticable or anything

saint_john_paul_ii4936d ago

you must be really dumb, because they look the same.

Information Minister4936d ago (Edited 4936d ago )

Hhhhhmmmmm...

http://www.videogameszone.d...

They look the same to me. I would ask to borrow your fanboy goggles, but lets be honest here... You didn't even bother to hit the link and take a look at the screens, did you? You just came here to exercise your trolling skills.

Looking Back to Two of Need for Speed's Best Games - Most Wanted and Hot Pursuit

Paul writes - "EA know a good thing when they see it, and for multiple years November was Need for Speed month. In a break from the usual routine, I'm going to be looking back at two games here, released in 2005 and 2010 respectively. The earlier game is Need for Speed: Most Wanted, which has the distinction of being one of the very best in the franchise. The second game comes from 2010, and is Need for Speed Hot Pursuit; which I'll talk about just as the Remastered version of the game has hit the stores."

Hotpursuit 2 was good as well.

The-Matrix-has-you172d ago (Edited 172d ago )

I completely adore this game! In fact its probably my favorite racing game. I recently dusted off my xbox 360 to play Most Wanted 2005. Still a great game, though I do not remember there being such horrible performance. Like massive frame-pacing issues. screen tearing, latency. If any game ever truly needed to be remastered, it this one for sure!

Uuuu, I loved this one. I want it.

LucasRuinedChildhood1325d ago

No NFS released since Hot Pursuit (2010) has came close. The Ghost Games NFS games were just dreadful (to me they were anyway, 2015 was okay I suppose). Would love to replay this and I hope it has an update for next-gen as well.

DarkZane1325d ago (Edited 1325d ago )

I loved Most Wanted as well (on PS3, I think it released in 2012). After that, it has gone downhill, but the latest games are slowly coming back up. I loved NFS Heat, but it needs to get better before it comes back to same level as NFS Hot Pursuit and Most Wanted.

Then again, NFS Hot Pursuit and Most Wanted were likely better because they were from Criterion (in fact, those were the last 2 games from criterion in nfs series).

LucasRuinedChildhood1325d ago

@DarkZane
complete agree. Most Wanted was good fun as well.

boing11324d ago

Yeah, Criterion has made two best NFS games in my opinion.

georeo1325d ago

Oh yes! They cops vs the drivers online was a blast.

LucasRuinedChildhood1325d ago

Better be 60FPS unlike the original console ports.

Sgt_Slaughter1325d ago

I would be excited but NFS is basically dead in the water at this point, a shell of its former self.
