1UP: GoldenEye 007 Review

Still, if you're willing to strip away all the pretense, there's a fun, entertaining first-person shooter here. During a time when the genre has become so beholden to gritty depictions of war and hardcore space marines, it's pleasant to see a title that, like the best Bond films, doesn't take itself too seriously.

GI's review was a joke.

EvilTwin4943d ago

Dude, GI's Wii reviews always tend to be jokey. I mean, they put up a second opinion on Metroid Prime Trilogy that trashed the control scheme and said the GC's was better (let that one sink in for a sec).

They were asking for old school in GE, but completely overlooked the old school mode without regenerative health. They said good stuff about the online, then said the replay value was moderately low. I mean...intellectual consistency just isn't their strong point with Wii reviews.

As for this review...it's making me strongly consider buying GE. No VC is a bummer, but this looks like it turned out really well.

Didn't GameCube have what is quite possibly the worst or 2nd worst controller in gaming history? Hmm... GI sucks, that's all there is to it.

I like people like this. They will keep my kill-to-death ratio nice and high.

got it,
really fun.
Golden Gun mode is surprisingly addictive despite being simple.

I knew GI were idiots. FUCK YOU TIM TURI! I'm getting this and nobody's gonna stop me! Except maybe my mom...

lol

I keed, I keed.

I meant my dad's paycheck.

Maybe it is time to just let Goldeneye go. People keep e-begging for this game and it came back in various iterations; remastered and original and in the end it was just meh. The game was a product of its time like Perfect Dark and Timesplitters.

Father__Merrin65d ago

It's from a bygone era that was good at the time but is pants now. Same with turok.

NotoriousWhiz65d ago

Whoa whoa whoa. Turok still holds up great.

YourMommySpoils65d ago

Isn't that like considering every other game too.

P_Bomb65d ago

When in doubt, port it out.

jznrpg65d ago

The game was a lot of fun for its time but damn that was a long time ago.

There are better shooters now and better worlds.

The Best Selling N64 Games of All Time

Want to know what the best selling N64 games of all time are? Here's the top ten list, with many fan favourites and a couple of surprises.

Never understood what 64 meant. Can anyone enlighten me? All I know is my neighborhood friends and I used to play the crap out of it. Favorite games were Cool Boarders, Mario kart 64, WCW vs NWO just to name a few. Man life was simple and good.
