GameInformer: GoldenEye 007 Review

GoldenEye 007 doesn’t feel like the retro dream it’s meant to be. This Bond game is lost in limbo somewhere between last generation and modern day shooters. Only diehard Bond or FPS fans with nothing but a Wii should bother picking this one up. Everyone else with fond memories of the N64 title should retrieve the game from their shelf, blow off the dust, smile fondly at it, and find peace in their fuzzy memories upon putting it back where it belongs.

Game Informer still hasn't figured out how to use a Wii remote:

Do they even realize that you can customize the aiming settings?

I swear, every Game Informer Wii reviews mentions control problems that can be found in no other review.

That said, the IGN review didn't really go into enough depth on some topics--particularly the multiplayer--so I'm waiting for a more thorough review.

The IGN review may have been a little too glowing. For Game Informer to fault it the game because of their own inadequacy with the Wiimote is poor taste. There are a lot of gamers who are proficient with the Wiimote, and could go toe to toe, if not flat out pwn someone using dual analog sticks. Reviewers should judge games based on how well they are made, and not rather or not u suck.

These guys have made it abundantly clear that they don't like the wii remote when it comes to FPS games. They should probably just stop reviewing Wii games all together, since anyone looking for Wii reviews probably already knows that these guys have no clue what they are talking about.

GameInformer sucks at everything, especially Wii reviews and website management.

Does anyone really care about GI anymore? They've worn their bias on their sleeves for years and yet everyone subscribes to them. IGN, GameSpot, GameInformer = Once okay, destroyed by bias and stupidity.

For the website, I can't login, but I've had enough with them anyway.

Also, just looking at the review, I have to remark on how pathetic it is. 4 paragraphs. Man, I write longer reviews for a 2-hour DLC title. For a remake to a famous 12-year old game, that's all we get? Tim Turi sucks, that's all there is to it.

I think people will not compare it to the original, but use their nostalgia as their basis. Therefor we will see some low scores as well.

I didn't see most of these "Hardcore" PS3 and 360 Gamers dragging this game down when ign reviewed it with a 9/10 but the moment an average score appears you flock like rabies ridden dogs foaming at the mouth to put it down. It's pathetic......

I own both Wii and PS3 and at least i could rely on Eurocom to deliver the best bond game this gen unlike the Blood Stone developers who have rushed the PS3 & 360 versions. I knew Blood Stone would suck since there has been no advertising for the game on tv and the internet.

Also those saying IGN were paid for the goldeneye review are retarded. Why would activision pay IGN to review Goldeneye great but take a crap on Blood Stone? People need to think before speaking.

Anyone who reads gameinformer, and isnt a fanboy knew this was coming. They are an obvious Wii hating mag and as of Jan if this year were using every issue to take jabs at it. I cant say if they have since then as any gaming mag that makes up some of the lame excuses they were to justify their hate isnt one I want to read.

There is a good reason Gamestop gives away subs for GI. Nobody would really pay for it.

It seems that Game Informer reviewer still don't know how to point at something. Considering I decided to play FPS exclusively on the Wii, because of the pointer control, I could not be more out of tune with this reviewer. As a matter of fact, I don't think his opinion is of any value to a Wii owner as he definitely struggle with the most basic features of the console.
