IGN: James Bond 007: Blood Stone Review

Blood Stone is not a bad game: it's just a painfully average one. There aren't any majorly broken elements to it, but just because this Stone is relatively polished, doesn't make it a gem. There really isn't anything at all remarkable about it, and even though it's extremely short it still manages to wear out its welcome thanks to its extremely repetitive design. If GoldenEye is indeed the Sean Connery of 007 video games, then Blood Stone is the George Lazenby; not bad, but not good either, and forgettable in almost every way. At just five hours long and lacking in any real innovation or challenge, it won't leave you feeling shaken nor stirred, just shortchanged.

talking about let downs :(...well at least goldeneye for wii is good, i'll pick this one

SoapShoes4931d ago

Uh, how do you know it's good?

yippiechicken4931d ago

Not that this means much to most people, but IGN gave Goldeneye a 9.0. I just got back from picking it up. Hope it's as good as they say.

:)

Why is it a flop? Because IGN says so?

@sinncross- I remember HHG saying that this was going to be an AAA game. I'm starting to think that HHG may be to easy to please. He rarely gives a bad review. From what I remember, he gave Prototype a 9.7/10. I bought Prototype on his recommendation alone...and the game AT BEST is a 7.5 IMO.

Jamegohanssj54931d ago

People actually think IGN knows how to formulate good reviews?

TGSI

lh_swe4931d ago

Because just as you said giving Prototype isn't a 9.7...I think he's trying to be a crowd pleaser, because if he rarely disses a game then theoretically he shouldn't loose any fans but because he can't see past his nose he doesn't realise that it only makes him look like an idiot.

I was actually expecting this one to be good...The last good Bond game was Nightfire. Awesome MP.

DarthMoose4930d ago

Everything or nothing owns Nightfire, my bond game by far

NarooN4930d ago

Correction: The last good Bond game was Everything or Nothing. Nightfire was amazing on PS2/Xbox/Gamecube (the PC port was FUCKING TERRIBLE), but EoN was also brilliant.

Wow that's a bad score. Not the "Triple A" title I was hoping for...

sinncross4931d ago

After QoS I'm surprised you thought this could be Triple A.

Sure it looked decent and had the potential to be good but it never looked to be that it was going to be top tier material..

cygnuszero24931d ago

Oh lord, please dont tell me you actually expected this to be good.

MGRogue20174931d ago

... Wait for a huge price drop

HungPHATx4931d ago

Here we go IGN ! It's MOH again ..

chasegarcia4931d ago

ign is finally laying the smack-down. Now if they can just re-review GTA4.

mrv3214931d ago

AND MW2... hype is really really killing reviews blinding them from the facts.

He said that MW2 is far more balanced than MW.

Actually great list TBH I agree with all 10

I hope one day we get some remakes for the following

The saboteur(with a proper remake and quality of life features this game could be great)
Scarface world is yours
Binary domain ( such a great game with great story)
GUN(this needs a remake)
Space marine 40k(such fun time)

Would also like to suggest adding the mercenary series even the 2nd game which is disliked by many is a fun time

cthulhucultist369d ago

I recently finished Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine and found it to be very enjoyable.

The game respected the lore and the gameplay was quite decent.

The color palette was a bit underwhelming (backdrops and setting) and recycled but I think that it deserved better.

Here's hoping for an amazing sequel

Space Marine II !! My most anticipated game of 2023! Woot

I don't even remember this game existing

jokerman272413d ago

Yeah, it does and it's pretty good actually!

CobraKai2413d ago

I might have to check it out. My other favorite Bond game was an original story, Everything or Nothing.

DigitalRaptor2413d ago (Edited 2413d ago )

I remember this being pretty damn good. I might replay it soon on PS3.

Who needs backwards compatibility? 😏

jokerman272413d ago

Exactly, save those old systems ;)
