CSM - Shadows at Water's Edge is one of the less linear entries in the Nancy Drew series. Nancy is free to wander around the Inn and beyond (via a subway system), but she'll miss certain events that only happen at specific times unless she sets her alarm.
Who you callin’ “Nancy Boy”?
If you’ve read many of my previous reviews, you should know that I’m a big fan of adventure games. Whether it’s titles that put a new twist on the genre (like Zak & Wiki on the Wii) or releases such as Telltale Games’ episodic Sam and Max which stay faithful to the classic adventure formula, I typically enjoy them all. Another series to grab my favor in recent years are the Professor Layton games which combine an adventure story-line with an abundance of brain teasers and logic puzzles. Thus, I was actually quite happy when I started playing Nancy Drew: Shadow At The Water’s Edge and found that it contained not only plenty of classic adventure elements, but also a healthy smattering of Layton-esque mindbenders.
