Why Ys Seven Is the Best Zelda Game You'll Ever Play

Ys Seven is similar to the Legend of Zelda series in many ways. Only it is better than all of them.

Id love to hear about why this game is so great, as Ive never heard of it. But I will not give hits to any site who makes up such crappy titles for their articles.

Although I get it, The title makes no sense really.

From reading articles on here lately Id think that it is impossible for gaming "journalists"(hahaha hahahahahha)to write an article about something with out mentioning how much "better" or "worse" it is to something else.

I think a better title would be "why zelda fans will love Ys seven." Im no zelda fanboy, but im sick of stupid comparisons in titles, which are used for hits.

I am glad they kept it around. First time for me was Y's book I&II on the turbografx. I loved the music and cinematics that joined the first book with the second in the story.

There are some similarities to zelda but more dungeon crawler. I lost track after Y's 3 but it would be nice to get back into the series.

Nothing's wrong with that. But shouldn't come out like this and say its better than Zelda...

Zelda is my fav series after Mario, Pokemon and Castlevania!

I'm not a hardcore Zelda fan, but let's try to keep the distinguishable traits between both titles clear, shall we? That article's creating an unnecessary war between two good game series. lol

A normal opinion piece about the game would not nessesarily peak interest. However, challenge one of the most beloved classics of all time and suddenly you have peoples attention.

It's perfectly reasonable to bring up Zelda as a refurence to a long running series that more often than not sticks to it's roots, but don't interject personal preference or emply superiority of one game over the other. It's just bad criket.

PSP has sooo many great RPGs. A lot of them just came out in the past couple years, too.

Ys 7, Ys; Oath in Felgana (Ys 4 remake? I forget), and YS 1&2 remake are all coming in the next couple months, plus theres Phantasy Star Portable 1&2, Crimson Gem Saga, Valkyria Chronicles 2, Hexyz Force, etc. etc. All the RPGs I mentioned here are top notch quality, right up there with the likes of DQ9 (which is on the DS, of course -- and is awesome), in my opinion.

Played YS 8 and 9.. 8 was much better. Looking for new YS games.

I hope 10 is more like 8 or previous games . 9 wasn’t bad and had some good elements but the zones were annoying to have to clear enough orbs for points to get to next zone . Unnecessary imo. Combat was fun and story was ok but it wasn’t as good as 8 7 6 etc . It’s still one of my favorite franchises . Just bought Ys Book 1&2 on DS . I have the Turbo Grafx 16 copy also .

A Look Back at the Ys Series on PlayStation Handhelds

VGChartz's Adam Cartwright: "The PSP was blessed with multiple entries and this support continued onto the Vita, with remakes, ports, and a brand new title releasing over the course of the handheld’s life. It made the franchise a perfect choice for this series of articles, because although the series' future definitely isn’t on Sony’s handhelds at this point, it still had some brilliant representation over the past 12 years.

So in this article I’ll be looking back at a history of the franchise on Sony’s handhelds, from its origins on the PSP right through the latest release on Vita, with an emphasis on the quality of the ports to the handhelds as well as any sales figures that are available, alongside a conclusion of how well the franchise has done on the platforms."

Oath at Fhelgana, Seven, Memories of Celceta and Lacrimosa of Dana are amazing games. I adore the Ys series, and Adol is one of my favorite JRPG characters ever.
