The more the merrier. I wish people wouldn't try ruin other people's genuine enthusiasm for the product. *sigh*

Bigpappy4939d ago

You would think fanboys would be pointing this out.

read the article next time, troll:

"Players will be able to choose between a Dog, Cat, Horse or Lizard, that will then be able to be morphed into creatures such as unicorns or dragons. Voice recognition will provide the opportunity to command pets through a series of mini-games and Talent Shows, as you pursue your dream of becoming a professional Pet Trainer."

nycredude4938d ago

So far nothing but shovelware.

Lucreto4939d ago

For a device being hailed as an innovation it sure has a lot of the same type of games. All I see it Fitness games, dance games and now animal games. All done by the Wii and DS to death.

user8586214939d ago

Their launch titles!!!!!, kinda like 360 and ps3 launch where all we got where shooters and racing games

hmmmm4939d ago (Edited 4939d ago )

Gaming started a long time ago, pretty much everything has been done to death genre wise but it's the way its implemented which can be interesting, fun or innovative.

Have fitness and dancing games been done before? Yes! Have they been done using a camera to track your movements? No!(at least i believe not)

To be honest, i don't really have any intention to buy it as nothing at the moment really takes my fancy but don't totally write something off before it's released cos you never know if there is something you might like about it.

Yes they have been done before but Kinect has a better camera.

I don't mind Kinect really. I just want it to fail or succeed on the merits of the technology and its software not $500 million advertising it. Kinect will be a success but it will be a bought victory.

hmmmm4939d ago

ok, i admit i had never heard of those games before. But still, the success all lies in the implemention and on whether it improves on what has already been established. So far from what i have seen it is doing ok but i wouldn't buy it.

MS have put a lot of research and development behind kinect and they would like it to sell well and to succeed so of course they are going to advertise it a lot. Initial sales of a newly released product will always be due to comercial reviews and advertisements and it is those early adopters who will create the 'word of mouth' sales or the 'this shit's f****d' user reviews that could deter the interested buyers, so we'll have to wait and see i guess.

Move has been in R&D since 2001 so it would have cost a small fortune as well. But Sony seems to be using more word of mouth as they only spending $500,000 for Moves advertising and it seems to be doing well so far. The casual market don't read user reviews so rubbish games will sell but eventually like the wii sales will fall but not until MS called it a success.

Yep i agree that they have gone over board with the advertising budget but time will tell once the initial sales for kinect vs move go live.

'The casual market don't read user reviews so rubbish games will sell but eventually like the wii sales will fall but not until MS called it a success.'

Exactly! I didn't mean user review on the internet i meant person to person (sorry i was vague). Pretty much the only way to get favourable word of mouth reviews is to have people buy the product on what they have read/heard through advertising and for them to then suggest a product to their friends.

Also what you were saying about casual gamers not reading up about thing on the internet and not reading reviews of products like kinect is precisely the reason advertising exists. Casuals ARE the target audience, therefore MS will make sure they put in the advertising money to make sure they have heard about it.

These same people who are defending kinect so vigorously now are the same people who were bashing the wii for all the shovelware it had.

So in my eyes it looks like they have no choice but to look like hypocrites now.

Blaze9294939d ago

and MOVE supports are any different how? EVERYONE bashed the whole motion gaming concept the Wii launched with and now look at the crowd. 360 and ps3 users alike.

bananlol4939d ago

I dont believe he stated they were, so where did that come from?

tinybigman4939d ago

I bought the Move not for the shovelware, but for the core games that give me the option to use it; or the games that are built from ground up like sorcery.

Blaze9294939d ago

They're launch titles with a new kind of technology - what do you expect? Most of these games have only been in development for a year. Let the time go on then you'll start to see some unique and innovative games...hopefully.

I know THQ has that big game planned for Kinect and they're just waiting for more people to buy Kinect first.

sounds like shit.

Honestly

How can any microsoft fanboy defend the garbage

MorganX4939d ago

The same way PS3 fanboy defends holding a giant glowing Dildo playing with themself.

SkyCrawler4938d ago (Edited 4938d ago )

Xbox Fanboy: "Have fun with your dildo"
PS3 fanboy: "With Kinect, you ARE the dildo"

Just something I saw on a youtube video. Made me LAWL

wat6344939d ago

Can't wait to try all these games!

Kinect is getting more good news everyday!

GoldPS34939d ago

How old are you dude? Really please tell me becuz I know and you know that you are not gonna play those games.

stonecold34939d ago

has more than 40 studios backing the system even throw in the multi developers they are already on board as well kinect has 15 nothing else

Mystogan4938d ago (Edited 4938d ago )

15 MAJOR third-party studios is a lot for something as different as Kinect. all of the best Developers/publishers in the industry are there.

EA
Bethesda
Capcom
Activision Blizzard
Square Enix
Suda51
Konami

And most of their games will be exclusive to Kinect since it's so different compared to move

Those are all you need

Nothing to see here... most things are still over priced.

Remember Venture from ColecoVision? I was scared of the monsters that were coming in the room if you took too much time, but that's very long time ago and I was pretty young!
