UGDB.com - Get Fit With Mel B Review: Further Your Life In Positive Ways With This Fitness Game

Being a gamer and physically fit has its challenges and contradictions. All that time you are putting into working out or eating healthier could be spent playing a video game and eating chips on the couch. The main challenge for most, is that a good portion of those who consider themselves gamers are also so lazy that they wont want to spend the time nor effort into becoming physically fit when they can just continue their daily routine. Now fitness games are nothing new; developers have had us up and moving for quite some time now, whether it be dancing, playing instruments, doing simple aerobic workouts, or even yoga. However this time around we have something a bit different, the new gaming fitness innovations brought forth by developer Lightning Fish in their debut PlayStation Move title, Get Fit With Mel B.

If the wife and daughters like this then I will have to get another PS3. I sure as hell will not play / do / whatever this.

Rather play Golf, Table Tennis or some Sport game with Move.

Exercise is good for the body. I don't need a game to tell me that.

"Not everything is perfect however, this is the first fitness game to use the PlayStation Move technology and the game does a poor job of explaining when you actually need to hold the controller and when you can sit it down. Prior to beginning several specific sets the game will pause and tell you, you need the controller, at other times it’s more of a guess and go and hope that you’re holding it correctly."

Why anyone would want or need to hold a controller, much less guess when to hold it (or how to hold it), is beyond me. I thought this was supposed to be simple and accessible?

Wouldn't it be much more accessible to do away with the controller altogether for these sorts of games?

oh wait

My advice. Turn off the PS3, Go outside and run/cycle/walk/swim (obviously in a pool), Comeback no earlier than one hour later, turn on PS3, Have fun.

Seriously console exercising isn't great
