Those environments are looking really nice--especially for being a UE3 game. I wish that the rest of the UE3-dev community would give it that much effort. If they're going to use it, they might as well do it like the Gears team does it.

Unless they've change the definition of MEMEX, I think your information is flawed...especially since it's already trademarked as what it actually is.

Second, GPGPU stands for General Processing on GPU. It means using the GPU to perform tasks otherwise delegated to the CPU. (See Badaboom) Doing this on the 360 would actually be a performance hit since the CPU is not designed to help with GPU tasks. It has to be a two way street. That's why Sony went with the CELL.

I hope you didn't pay for your "insider" information. I imagine you purchased it wrapped in an envelope in the trench coat of an alleyway-lurking salesman.

Yea, it has good graphics, but in order to beat UC2, Epic would have to spend more time making hand-drawn textures. They use less resources to render than procedural rendering.

Can't wait for Gears 3! Looks good so far!...I have to say I am suprised there arn't many PS3 fanboy comments in this thread so far. Are they speechless? I've owned both systems for quite some time now, and never really thought one was graphically superior to the other. You can talk exclusive this and exclusive that, but I have never been blown away when comaparing either of these systems at home. They are both great! Oh, and I enjoy my graphically inferior Wii as well :-)

If your information was accurate, MS would have showed something by now. They're already alienating a lot of their core gamers with all this Kinect nonsense. All they would need to do to balance that out is show a 20-second teaser for something new.

Unless they're waiting for Kinect to crash and then show something new to win people back...but that sounds stupid, too.

That looks better than I thought it would and that is off screen footage. I liked the single player of the first two games, but the multi was never my cup of tea. That new game mode they just showed off looked kind of interesting though. The new foliage tech they have looks really nice.

The only things I didn't like about the games were the multiplayer game modes where you had to wait forever after you died for the next round to start. That crap was boring as hell. Other than that, the only other thing that bugged me was the texture pop in. Also with dedicated servers, the lag should be nearly non existent.

I have to say I thought the story reasonable in GOW2, certainly from the perspective of a action game. It's no MGS but certainly had the Edge on Killzone 2 at the time.
