5 Games That Could Be Awesome in Another Genre

Gaming is no stranger to franchises taking a gamble in other genres. But I’m still not satisfied. With so many great worlds filled with great characters out there, why not continue to expand? Here’s a list of five franchises that I think would be awesome if they tried their luck with a different genre.

DragonBall Z RPG

Uncharted X Team Racing after Uncharted 3 (Naughty Dog Fans will understand this)

and how about a Sony Smash Brawl? Nathan Hale, Drake, Cole, Kratos, Snake, Norman Jayden, Sackboy, Kevin Butler, all in a brawling game.

HeavenlySnipes4966d ago

And I am still waiting for an open world DBZ RPG. Its f'n simple, they train get stronger right? Just like in a RPG you fight and level up. How can they not connect th 2?

Yi-Long4966d ago

... a side-scrolling beat'm up which has the same fight engine and gadgets as Batman AA, plus more characters and co-op.

Walking through the streets and over the rooftops of Gotham City, Streets of Rage style, just kicking the snot out of all the hoodlums...

The 2D levels in Batman AA were great and the fight engine worked very well, so why not? Could even make it a game for XBLA/PSN.

Kevin Butler in Sony Smash Brawl would be EPIC!

As for Dragon Ball Z RPG, there is Dragon Ball the MMO in closed beta at the moment..

And CTR = <3
Not sure it would work toooo well with uncharted though, its not whackey enough :D

LoVeRSaMa4966d ago (Edited 4966d ago )

I wish Pokemon games weren't Nintendo exclusive.

Leafhopper4966d ago

I agree and don't agree with you on that.

It is a Nintendo's thats a for sure but it would be interesting to see what another company would do with the mechanics of the Pokemon game engine. Change some numbers around...like How many pokemon you can carry, and how many gyms etc etc. Item and clothes customization for the character as well would be nice, after all you are that trainer.

I hope you are listening Pokemon Company.

SexyPrawns4966d ago

Terrible list.

Pokemon MMO (I'm aware of the indie one. I want a better one.)
Sony Characters Smash Bros. (More like Power Stone though)

I wonder how much Ubisoft payed for this article to be written.

Skuletor1h ago

I wonder how much a AAAA journalist would cost too.

BeHunted1h ago(Edited 1h ago)

Maybe it was Sony?

RhinoGamer883h ago

Does anyone have accurate gameplay numbers from Steam or PSN? I smell snow job...

S2Killinit2h ago

If true, it goes to show that the negative press response was not reflecting reality. I personally thought omitting land traversal was a huge miss. But i also thought there was some things that were great about it. Lets see which story was true and which was made up (or worse, paid for)

Friendlygamer2h ago

No data just pr talk. The same site has an article talking about how the price of the game was slashed quickly post release, these sites treat us like fools lol

InUrFoxHole2h ago

What exactly is you're arguement? Did you read the article?

jjb19812h ago

They're right. There is no argument either. The game is a turd and Ubisoft is doubling down on that turd. It's all fancy PR talk with no actual substance. I don't know what "argument" you're looking for. I read the article. It sounds like Ubisoft asked for a redo on their "AAAA" "game". Trash game and trash company.

Friendlygamer1h ago(Edited 1h ago)

Price decrease articles are typically made to make it seem like a gaming is flopping, they're often poorly researched and meaningless.
The article about the game thriving is also meaningless because it contains no data, it's basically corporate propaganda, even suicide squad is getting a season 2

In resume, not only this site plays both sides, it does it lazily and cynically because they don't care about quality, what they care about is clicks from us ( fools )

InUrFoxHole1h ago(Edited 1h ago)

@ jb
🤣 all it says is thanksfor the support. It's not like they're saying hey it's better than what you've seen come buy it. Lol you guys will whine about anything
@ Friendly
Gotcha when you referenced the other articles was like... uh doesn't that make it non biased? Basically you prefer stats with these articles or some sort of metric. I'm tracking. All I can say is... not everything is an amazing read or comment on n4g, lol. Game on!

The Bridge Curse 2: The Extrication Review - Cinematically Haunting - Games Horizon

The Bridge Curse 2: The Extrication was incredibly scary, and would be considered a cinematic horror because of how well everything is done visually. There are many faults with it, but at least it's very scary.
