VGC writes, "Rather than being a rehash of the original game, Tecmo instead completely revamped several aspects of gameplay and opened up the gaming world even more. While the first Fatal Frame was confined to a single mansion and the grounds surrounding it, Fatal Frame II provides the player with a much larger world that includes a large forested area, a cemetary, and a lost village in the mountains with four explorable houses that get larger in size as the game progresses. This expansive new world comes fully furnished with an entirely new storyline featuring all new protagonists and a completely new evil force that is pulling all the strings. Remember the jump in the size of the gaming world from Resident Evil to Resident Evil 2? That’s “Crimson Butterfly” in a nutshell. Also, I should mention that the game was later released on the Xbox in a “Director’s Cut” format that includes some additional game modes and content, but this review focuses exclusively on the PS2 version."
Fatal Frame 2 is the quintessential survival horror game which deserves to be remembered by every horror fan.
I played the OG Xbox game on 360 via BC. Played great and looked perfect. I imported the wii remake as well, but have never actually played it.
Great game and great series..hopefully they would port FF2 Wii remake version on other consoles as they did with FF4 and FF5

Was playing Alien: Isolation again a few weeks ago, still holds up and the AI is incredible.
F.E.A.R. was another amazing game, shame the series went downhill with 2 and then fell off entirely with F3AR.
Couldn’t get into Fatal Frame, bought the remaster on PS5 and just…couldn’t.
The spooky season is at last upon us, making the next couple of weeks the perfect time for a healthy helping of horror. There's no shortage of options out there, so here are a few suggestions to get the ball rolling!
I remember the suffering and it was descent game. I always wanted to play Crimson but never got to it.
But honestly, I’ve never played a game that really scared me, like some movies from the past have.
