Most if not all the MMORPGs were terrible choices. Not only that author never gives any reason why he or she choose these MMORPGs. All the author did was list some mmos and gave you a basic description of the game.
It's an opinion piece that people may not agree with.
Actually I find that there are reasons given but they are just implied, not directly stated . I mean the post says stuff like "this has everything you could possibly want in an MMORPG" (direct quote) which is pretty much *a* reason. I don't think the author has to directly say "this is the reason."

While the author doesn't have say "this is the reason..." it does however makes the opinion piece look more appealing/let you see things from the author's perspective.
There are a lot of free MMO's out there. This is a closer look at a few of them from the good to the downright scary... but in a bad way.
Every F2P game should look at Tribes and Phantasy Star Online 2 for a guide on how to do it right and look at games like APB to see how a game with potential can be completely ruined by Pay to Win.
DC universe online used to be free to play, and they prom ised never to let microtransactions become p2w. Then they slapped the whole playerbase in the face with recent updates making it almost completely p2w. Trash game and Trash developers cant even get rid of bugs since launch...greedy scum. :P
Care to provide some insight as to why you feel DCUO is p2w? I've been doing fine and all I've purchased was expansions.
I feel like their business model is extremely fair on both subscribers and free players. My brother is subscribed and he has absolutely no glaring advantages over me.
Here are some good free 3D vampire MMORPG that horror fans can enjoy. No more 2d browser games for fans! No text games here either, they are all in glorious three dimensions, all the better for players to immerse themselves in the dark world of the undead.
