Big Download Chats with BlueGiant Interactive's Vinnie Reddy about Apox

The sales and critical success of games like StarCraft II and Civilization V have shown that the PC exclusive strategy genre is still alive and well. India-based game developer BlueGiant Interactive hopes that strategy's new popularity will rub off on their debut title, the post-apocalypse RTS title Apox.

The game has a number of interesting features including more of an emphasis on action-styled gameplay. The development team is currently signing up people to beta test Apox at the game's official web site. Big Download got BluGiant Interactive's Vinnie Reedy to give them some more info on Apox which is due out in late 2010.

APOX is a real-time strategy game that uniquely includes gameplay concepts from first-person shooters. Like in a FPS, you can prone, crouch, switch active weapons, throw grenades, and loot corpses. Soldiers in APOX have limited ammo, but ammo sharing is done seamlessly. Soldiers can be placed in vehicles, and this essentially lets you create your own unit designs. APOX keeps everything that makes RTS great like making bases, controlling strategic sites, and managing your resources.
