Capcom reduces fiscal forecast due to Lost Planet 2 shortfall

Capcom has adjusted its earnings outlook for the current fiscal year, ending March 31, 2011. Despite some promising sales numbers in Japan from Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes and the Japan-only Monster Hunter spinoff Monhan Nikki Pokapoka Airu Mura, the publisher is expecting 91 billion yen in net sales this year ($1.09 billion) instead of the previous estimate of 95 billion ($1.14 billion).

I'm still interested in LP2 and I would get it right away if it gets a MOVe support patch. MOVE fits perfectly in this game.

Yeah, its decent. Although I honestly think LP1 was better overall. LP2 just kinda... has a slapped together story. If you can call it that. LP1 had an interesting character/adventure, which made it a far better game, IMO.

There's too many bugs (glitches) in LP2... but it was still fun. The first was better because it had less glitches and gigantic maps with no loading.

You piss off the people who loved the game the first time. Now that those people dont feel so special they dont hurry and run out and buy the game. I think that multiplat bugg bit capcom in the butt this time. It worked with devil may cry but on this one they screwed up.

Thats why i think bioware needs to be carful with masseffect if the pc and 360 owners think there version of masseffect 3 is gonna get gimped so the ps3 version can be the same its going to piss people off. The things you did in ME really effected 2 so if thats gone because of ps3 there will be alot of pissed gamers.

Hmmm how would the 360 version of Mass Effect be gimped because of the ps3 that doesn’t make sense. you do know that the ps3 has more power than the 360 and three times the amount of space on a single bluray disc than dvd9. so i must ask again why would you think the 360 version would be gimped?

Is LP2 really that bad? I only played the demo and to me it play the same like the 1st LP which I thought was a good game. I never got around to buying LP2. I would like to though.

The headling conveniently neglects this bit from Capcom's release:

"Monster Hunter Tri only sold at a 'sluggish pace.'"

Looks like LP2 wasn't the only big title to blame, even if it was more significant than the rest.

Lost Planet 2 is a fun game with buddies. Great Coop action. Story is stupid but who cares. This game is about big guns and big bugs.

Playing Lost Planet 2 at the moment, not the best game ever but enjoyable never the less also i think they should turn it more of a monster hunter with guns type of game(LP3) now thats got to sell because fighting those akrid?/monsters is the best bit of the game imo

Do you know how many copies capcom sold of street fighter 2 on nintendo and sega systems. Man you kids dont know anything. And the orginal lost planet and dead rising sold millions on xbox 360 the ps3 versions are the ones that bombed. These multiplats are failures and i bet if they were exclusives they wouldnt be failures since the last two sold so well. 360 owners buy their proven exclusives the multiplat status turned them off of it.

lost planet 1 was good but frustrating. The second is awsome but i f***** hate that its so damn hard on singleplayer. I HATE all this co-op shi* also. I like the option of it and love split screen but make the games around the singleplayer campaign please. That ruined re5 for me. It was done really well there but the co-op and the all action ruined it. They have some good games and franchises though. Im suprised lp2 didnt sell more it was a big blockbuster with shooting and beautiful graphics. They need to go back to onimusha, a other m type megaman, breath of fire, theres acually many good franchises that deserve modern games.

I guess i'm one of the few people who actually liked the game I mainly bought it for co-op and had a great time playing with my friends but i could see how a person wanting to play it by themselves wouldnt like it all that much.
