One of the biggest selling points for the PS3 is that Blu-ray player inside it. For a while there it seemed that was one of the only reasons anyone was picking up the system. So it should come as no surprise that according to Home Media Magazine 47 percent of people who watch Blu-rays do it on a PS3. However, that's actually a drop off for the system, as 45 percent of watches are now using stand-alone players where only six months ago the PS3 had a two-to-one advantage over players.
Backward compatibility works for many games on newer consoles, but titles such as The Simpsons: Hit and Run have been left out.
From base building to swinging willies, here are the best survival games around, which include a couple of less than obvious picks.
It turns out that many moons ago, Microsoft once had its eye on the Sony published LittleBigPlanet series.
Microsoft in a nutshell. Always tried to poach Sony employees, games, 3rd party games and devices like the depth camera that was turned into Kinect but was running on PS2 before Xbox 360. Wouldn't be surprised they wanted LBP. Just like they worked behind the scenes pushing the MLB to bring Sony's baseball game to Xbox instead of making their own.

They didn't spend years trying to develop their own baseball game. They wanted Sony's game.
They're scum.
"However, Healey said Media Molecule wouldn't have felt right doing that, adding it would have been "morally corrupt"."
Major kudos to Media Molecule for being an upright studio with principles.
Great, more stories like this please. Show the last of the zombies holding the line what we've been saying for years: Microsoft is anti competition, anti industry and has no interest in making games at all.
But hey, at least there's an Xbox Games Showcase to look forward to, right?
Well considering SONY just killed the series, LBP would've been dead by now either way. Though MM probably wouldn't exist by now either, so I'm glad they stayed with SONY, hopefully they don't get shut down any time soon or ever honestly.
BUT! if you want the best Blu-Ray experience, id recommend a PS3. Since launch its been tested and proven that its still the best Blu-Ray player on the market.
yeah i am not surprised, it isn't the cheapest BD around any more. BD Players run $80-$160. It's like i said a long time ago, they will get cheaper and cheaper as time goes on. Eventually we will see the BD Player Percentage get closer to DVD player Percentage.
I could see how Blu-Ray was a selling point when it first launched, but nowadays you can pick up a Blu-Ray player for dirt cheap. I`d say that most people buying PS3s nowadays are looking to play some games.
Edit: If you disagree, please, let me know why you think otherwise.
Those cheaper Blu Ray players, play movies at half the price of PS3 so think about it.
Well all i can say is, so what? Who in their right mind buys a PS3 for a Bluray player anymore. It was never a 'Bluray player', it always was a gaming console. The Bluray was just icing on the cake. I don't know anyone stupid enough to still buy a PS3 just to watch Bluray movies with the number of things it can do.
