Player Affinity: Top 3 Most Disappointing Xbox 360 Games

The Xbox Team at Player Affinity wrote: "The Xbox 360 has had its share of amazing games; games like most of the Halo series, Mass Effect 2, and Gears of War have definitely kept us playing our 360’s into the long hours of the night. But there are some games that just don’t hit the gaming sweet spot. These are the games that make you lament the fact that you turned on your console."

I agree with all these choices apart from Mass Effect. Loved that game.

Blacktric4979d ago (Edited 4979d ago )

Mass Effect is on the list? Hahahahahahah!

"I don’t think “it wasn’t me” was the real problem as Mass Effect had a ton of problems, one being the incredibly slow start. It took around two hours until I actually got to do something and what I finally got to do was drive one of the worst controlling vehicles I’ve ever seen in a game. After many game over’s, I got to the end of that planet and was doing a boss battle Due to the poor combat and terrible healing system, I died and then had to drive all over again. I turned the game off then."

*facepalm*

I mean come on there were FPS drop problems but there was nothing else as far as I can remember. It was a great game and it still is on both 360 and PC.

Unfortunately, the bugs in Mass Effect really drove me crazy and I have never really recovered from. Disappointing...yes, worst ever...Maybe.

Rented Crackdown 2 and couldn't get into it. That game had it's heart and soul ripped out of it by switching devs...a cost cutting measure by M$ and it cost them and everyone ( indirectly related, Realtime closed ) dearly.

I understand the reason for Halo 3...but I don't agree. Halo 3 was a great game and I still remember many great moments from that game. Hype can help and sometimes hurt a game as well...Killzone, UC and Resistance on PS3 had the same effect on me...was expecting the next big thing...NOT quite.

Bioshock 2 is the same as Crackdown 2...different dev, different vibe. Also, I think the graphics were definitely downgraded from the first game...sure it's 720p but they cut corners everywhere to make it multi-platform ( PS3 ) compatible.

Ruffian Studios was mainly comprised of staff from RTW, who never wanted to work on APB. MS were not to blame for the demise of RTW, just taking too long to greenlight the sequel and only giving Ruffian 8 months to work on it.

ME1 does suffer from some technical issues, but once the story got going, they never mattered. ME2 improved on it overall, but ME1 has the better story and protagonist.

Mass Effect on 360 has a lot of technical problems, and I was disappointed by the game for its technical problems. I didn't get very far in the game because of slow downs and texture pop-ins distracting me the whole time.

kneon4979d ago

I've only played the PC version of Mass Effect and it had no such problems that I can remember. But the game had far too many dull bits for my liking, and I despised the combat system.

Tony P4979d ago

Disappointment is directly proportional to expectation. And I still I don't understand how a person who "had never enjoyed a BioWare game" expected so much out of this one. Just because it was sci fi? So was KoTOR. :S

I died at the first big boss battle too. But I reloaded and got better at managing my party. And definitely had a lot more fun after that.

Crackdown 2 I totally agree with. I felt like they didn't do much of anything for the game. It should have been more than it was. Period.

Same as the person above. Though I enjoyed Bioshock 2 quite a bit as well

Lionalliance4979d ago

Mass Effect?!
Are these guys serious?!

Chuk54979d ago

Mass effect is one of my fav rpgs, but some people just don`t like it. But to call it disappointing, I disagree with.

Infinite is a dumpster fire and as much as I like ODST, in no universe it ranks above Halo 2. This list is trash.

Kaii132d ago

Just exclude Infinite>5>4

ChasterMies132d ago

Best to worst: Halo 3, Halo 2, Halo Reach, Halo CE, Halo 4, Halo ODST, Halo Infinite, Halo 5.

The 7 Best Xbox 360 Games - Console Exclusives Win the Day

The Xbox 360 was a fantastic console in its day with some truly classic titles, but what are the seven best games for the console?

DrDoomer170d ago

I'm pretty used to these lists being bad, but this one is particularly s#ite.

raWfodog169d ago

I think Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon should have been added to the list.

BrainSyphoned170d ago

I'll go with,
Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, Culdcept Saga, Shadow Complex, Ace Combat 6 with the flight stick,A Kingdom for Keflings, A World of Keflings.
Bonus Kinect Games: Happy Action Theater and Sesame Street.
*Skyrim was so bad on PS3 that it almost deserves to be #1*

Husker42c169d ago

I really loved Shadow Complex.

P_Bomb169d ago

Ah yes, Shadow Complex! Good indies back in the day. Summer of Arcade. I enjoyed Trials Evolution as well.

ChasterMies170d ago (Edited 170d ago )

Was this made by a.i.? No human being would put Shadowrun, Fable III, and Splinter Cell: Conviction into a list of the 7 best Xbox 360 games.

Abnor_Mal169d ago (Edited 169d ago )

Would love to play Ace Combat6 on PlayStation, but Xbox decided to buy exclusivity and keep it off a competing platform.

The only mainline game I never played except for one level at a friends place. Game sold less than any other in the series if I remember correctly.

darthv72169d ago

360 had Namco hitters AC6 and RR6... both quality titles. You should at least bust out the 360 for AC6 if you can score the flight stick. Its great.

Hofstaderman169d ago

When the current gen XBOX offering is so lacking people need to refer to games released two generations back....

Profchaos169d ago (Edited 169d ago )

It's a nostalgia peice same reason we get thousands of YouTube videos on sega genisis. Something people have fond memories for but the era is long gone.

It's xboxs golden year imo it was their genisis years the time where they stuck it to the market leaders Sony.

BehindTheRows169d ago

They stuck nothing. Sony screwed themselves giving Xbox an opening. They would have gotten the usual smack down if the PS3 had launched at $399 and was easier to develop for.

Xbox 360 Turns 18: Three Cheers to Live, Halo, and Red Rings

The Xbox 360 launched in North America 18 years ago, and is now officially old enough to buy you a drink in Europe.

darthv72181d ago

Great platform, and many of its games (not bc) still hold up well to this day. Like the PS3, I keep a 360 hooked up for those games you can't play any other way.

isarai181d ago

The last gasp of greatness from XBox, you are missed, except the RROD that was lame, but amazing exclusives until the Kinect dropped.

TheBrainZ180d ago

So many brilliant games. I still have one stored somewhere.

LG_Fox_Brazil180d ago

I really enjoyed my X360, some great exclusives on it. Used to play the shit out ot Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey, two masterpieces
