Sounds like this may actually be quite good. This review says it's pretty fun and some other places have been giving it high scores. Might even get both games.

Messi looks real, if your looking for quick arcade fun get fifa, simulation is what pes is all about though...

Your statement would be true if we were in 2006 or earlier. Right now PES feels like a cartoon and FIFA more organic, both in looks and gameplay.

I say this as a major fanatical supporter of PES since the times of ISS Pro, back in 97/98. But after almost 10 years of love, when PES hit the new PS3/X360 consoles, it was horrible.

It's not me saying it, look up the game reviews averages. PES11 might be the better new gen game of the series, but FIFA took the lead years ago and is now leading by far.

Why do all these people say FIFA is arcadey? Clearly they probably haven't even tried it. It's insanely more realistic now. PES passing is very ping pong like. I don't get the same velocity or trajectory like in FIFA. It feels very linear and straight. The ball and player physics have gotten much better in FIFA making it harder to score, but also being able to score some beautiful and realistic goals.

Get it on PC then,.. It is modded trough the roof,.. every single aspect of the game,.. Even as we speak,..

But I really don't care much about that,.. but mechanics and learning curve,..

Back when i played PES, the first thing to do with each game was to import the last game's data and spend some time tinkering with the edit options. When you're a fan of a certain club or league, you know exactly their names or even appearance and edit it accordingly.

Of course, then there's the mods. Or just save the trouble and get FIFA but i won't interefere with personal taste, i've been there, i adored PES and it's not the lack of licensed teams that make it worse than any other game.
